I kept waiting on the comedy aspect of this so-called "black comedy" to kick in and it never happened. Fargo this was not.

Brad's Status (2017)

Quote:
A father takes his son to tour colleges on the East Coast and meets up with an old friend who makes him feel inferior about his life's choices.
Ben Stiller, playing a very annoying, self-absorbed man who just won't shut up.

Geostorm (2017)

I rather enjoyed this one. The plot was formulaic, but it was very nice to look at.

Priceless 2016

Quote:
In desperate need of money, James doesn't ask questions when he's offered hard cash to drive a small truck cross-country to make a delivery. But after learning that his cargo is human, he feels compelled to help his two passengers.
When I realized this was one of those "faith-based" films, I groaned.

But it wasn't bad and it seems it was the story of how the pricelessmovement.com began. That's the effort to put an end to human trafficking.

Quote:
In the U.S. alone, the department of Justice estimates that there are 100,000 to 300,000 American kids under the age of 18 involved in prostitution and targeted by sexual predators annually with the average age of a child sexually exploited being 11, and the average age of prostitution entry for a girl and boy being 13 and 12.

As a globe, there are more slaves today than at any time in human history with around 27 million men, women, and children living in bondage. In fact, in 2007, slave traders made more than Starbucks, Google, and Nike combined. 80% of the million new people trafficked annually are women and 60% are children. The average life span of these children in the sex slave trade is two years.

Suburbicon (2017)

I always enjoy the Coen brothers' films, and I enjoyed this very dark comedy a lot!

~~~~~~
Olive Kitteridge (2014) (TV Mini-Series)
Quote:
In this four-part domestic drama, wedded bliss is a relative term when it comes to the complicated 25-year union between dour, sarcastic schoolteacher Olive Kitteridge and her good-natured pharmacist husband, Henry.
Cast: Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Bill Murray, John Gallagher Jr., Rosemarie DeWitt, Peter Mullan, Zoe Kazan
Loved it.
~~~~~~

Despicable Me 3 (2017)

Fun. I particular liked the parodies of Victoria and The Durrells in Corfu.

Fritz (Steve Coogan) even mimicked the voice of "Uncle Leopold" in the scene where Uncle Leopold tells Prince Albert he is his real father. And the scene from "Durrells," with the suitor and Margo and her Mom - I was laughing out loud.

The minions were great too. Loved the "99 Bottles of Beer" rendition.

La La Land I always thought the stars of a musical should be able to sing....

Wonder Woman Not a huge superhero fan, but I kinda liked it until the end with the 'god' fighting 'god' part where it got completely ridiculous.

The Disaster Artist (for the second time)

Completely believe that James Franco should have been nominated for an Oscar.
