When everyone speaks of feminism and NOW and all of that it occurs to me that there is an entire generaton or 2 that have been discounted in this election.
It's the average women..the women I see in church...the ones in the grocery stores with their kids tagging along...the ones that come home to make supper for their husband...the ones that are taking care of their grandkids....the ones that are traveling in their retirement with their husbands of 50 years....the ones that are out volunteering each day once they are empty nesters....the ones that get up in the morning and fix breakfast for their husbands....the ones that have never held a job and just stayed home to raise kids and are now great grandparents..
IMO this women are being overlooked...but they are an extremely large population that you see walking inside the polling places.
These women will vote for McCain. No, they dont have a 'leader' to nationalize their opinions....well actually they do now through Sarah Palin....but their are millions of these type of women.

This morning
although I tend to watch Fox more first thing in the am, I switch back and forth with GMA several times to see what the left is up to. Of course they paraded their ole' friend Carvel to critique Sarah's interview with Gibson.

( I thought she shined like a diamond! But that's just me.)

Anyhow is it just me or is James Carvel starting to look ( and sound ) like Gollum from Lord of the Rings? I had asked my DH that and he couldn't stop laughing. But serously, he twists his head round the same way and licks his lips. I kept waiting for him to start saying " my precious". lol

Of course he said he's an old teacher and he tended to grade easily and he gave her a C- grade. Oh well, it didn't matter what his opinion was. He has never said anything intelligent in all the years he's been showing up on TV.

I too think Palin shined on that interview! In the same day she sent her son off to Iraq! She did fabulous! I wouldn't be able to think straight!

This thread is such a breath of fresh air. We have the winning team!

Its McCain/Palin all the way!!!

Great news!

McCain has come with 2 points of his opponent in the Blue State of Washington.

A month ago, McCain was losing the state by 12 points.

What a surge!

The view has just started here in the Eastern Time Zone. This should be interesting.

( I'm waiting for Joy to speak. She has been throwing barbs about McCain being " old" nearly every day of this show since he started running for the office. Bet she doesn't have the nerve to say it to his face.)

I think Joy will go after him on his choice of Sarah Palin - who she has 'ripped to shreads' on Larry King Live and The View.

Did anybody see that Gibson clipped the video of Sarah in her church off so it made it look like the war was God's plan?

Why do these women think they have the right to interrupt him mid sentence when he is trying to respond to their questions? They do it over and over. And then argue with him that he's not right in his opinion. Talk about judgemental.

Walters prefaced the whole show saying that abc news never clips the interviews, and is showing them in their entirety just as taped. Then she said anything left out was not content of any consequence.

After 33 minutes I think he's doing pretty well considering they all talk at once and interrupt constantly.

Wow I thought he did a great job as well as Cindy!!!...especially for this cackling bunch of hens.
Thats why I quit watching the view....the loudmouths dominate the show and they all start talking at once and I feel like I am at a female family reunion.

What IS the "Bush Doctrine" anyway?

Even CNN commentators who have covered Washington for years are vague on it.

No one I have asked - knew what it was.

What a crazy question - and people I have spoken to say Charlie Gibson was very 'cold' to Sarah Palin, talking like a stern father to his teenage daughter.

Don't they usually start an interview with some warmth and niceties like:

"Thank you for affording me this interview."

And why cut out an important piece about her response about "God"?

I think the interview will backfire on Gibson.

Sarah Palin did a good job - in a very hostile venue.

PS.

Does anyone remember an interviewer asking John Edwards (when he ran for VP) how many heads of State her knew?
