The detail on the "Mommy" Chicken is awesome.
Looks as though it is a carving, rather than a real live chicken.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!
It's a beautiful breed ... the Golden Laced Wyandotte.

I have 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes in my flock.

and they lay about 200 large brown eggs a year.

My Wyandottes were regular layers during the winter months, when the others (except for the white leghorns) were taking the cold months off.

I want to know where spring went. It feels like it went from winter to summer here. Send some of that rain down here! Some not too much!

That doesn't even look real. It looks like the feathers were painted on. They are beautiful!

Geez, I must have a friend who has educated me on chickens.

I don't think the original is the Sebrights.
Tail feathers are different color, so are the legs and feet.
Also the wattles look like a different shape.

I think your original choice of Golden Laced Wyandotte is correct.

Irregardless.... they are both stunningly beautifully feathered chickens.

You are correct, jas. I also failed to notice that Sebrights are always bantams ... very small chickens, about 1/4th the size of standard sized hens.
