Does Uber require a smart phone?
Does Uber require a smart phone to use?
Or can I schedule a ride from my desktop computer?

I think you can schedule a ride on the computer but it would be a lot easier if you did it from your phone. Just make sure you have an account with a credit card connected to that account.

I googled and found this, you might even be able to get one using a regular phone.

It's really not that expensive to get a smart phone. I probably use mine more for getting ubers than anything. $100 and comes with a year of service.

dopey ... At the link you posted; Do you think the Samsung Galaxy J3 5" 16GB for $99.95 is a better deal than the Samsung Galaxy Luna 4.5" TracFone for $79.95?

Also, would I be able to keep the phone number from my AT&T Samsung flip phone?

Not all phones come with the year of service, the one I posted comes with the service, the Luna doesn't.

Information on transferring your number to Tracfone . http://support.tracfone.com/expresshelp/1650475

I looked around some more and the lg 5.5 for 79.95 has a newer operating system and more free minutes with the year of service. I didn't look at every phone, but I doubt you'll find anything newer than android nougat.

dopey ... Last question (maybe) I am considering the the LG 5.5 for 79.95 at the link below. But what network do they use... AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon?

I don't know, I tried finding out, but it depends on zip codes and local contracts. When you try to buy the phone, it asks you your zip code and then let's you know if it will work in your area, but it doesn't tell you which carrier you will have.
