Look up those kinds of phone numbers on this website. Comments will tell you what kind of calls they are.

Obvious scam. Even if he is a lawyer, very doubtful, they can't issue summons. Anyone who could, would not do so over a missed phone connection.

Haha, me too. I love to do the 'OH NO, what do I need to do' thing. After I entertain myself, I laugh after hearing that sudden hang up click when they catch on to me. Life is too short to not have a little fun when you can.

I agree with you. Every minute you can keep them on the phone is one less minute they can use to scam and intimidate someone who just doesn't know.

And speaking of the devil, one called last night for me. The weird thing is they called on my husband's cell phone which I NEVER use and he actually had it turned off. We do know his identity was hacked with the equifax dealio and so they also got info about other household members. I think they tell one partner about the "legal case" and that person gets upset and either pays or makes the other person pay.

Scum-sucking bags of poop.

NO! Never call these numbers back! It only lets them know that the phone number is active....and they'll keep on hounding you! (They'll also sell your phone number to other companies/scammers, as an active number.)

Absolutely, positively a scam. We get them periodically in large groups at different times during the year. Call for missed jury duty, calls that you have an outstanding warrant, etc. These people are posing as police officers, judges and the like. It's disgusting. Always remain vigilant. You have no reason to feel like an idiot. They are good at what they do. If only they were using their cleverness for good.
