The nut was gone so I spent about an hour looking for one that would fit out of all the spare nuts we have.

Was just about to sit down on the ground to put it back together and Rudy started barking and jumping around. It's a certain bark and behavior that means "snake" so I ran up to the porch and got the snake rod and came back to look and sure enough about 2 feet from where I was going to sit down in the lily plant was a Copperhead. I grabbed him up with the rod and got him out in the open where I could hold his head down with the rod and Rudy came over and ripped his body away from the head and strutted off with his prize!

I should finish up with the mowing Friday. My sons are going to take me out to eat for my birthday.

Loving this thread some great post here!
When anything breaks down, it's always in the most inconvenient spot and if a part falls off, it is never around! In our yard are numerous bolts, flasher light bulbs ( yes, trees keep catching the flasher light on the tractor and pulling it apart ) , nuts, washers... and it has been this way for years as I can find an old corroded buckle, broken glass, etc in our garden, which is only 8" deep at the deepest part before ledge...
all come from somewhere even after a decade of tilling and working that soil!

Have a good meal!!!

Yep that's the way things seem to happen.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. As it turned out due to my health issues I wasn't able to go into town and eat so my oldest son ordered take-out and we all ate a meal together. I was the last one at the table I eat really slow. The phone rang and it was my SIL calling to wish me a happy birthday. I went out on the front porch to sit and talk to her. I guess the cat scooted in when I opened the door to go out and when I came back to the table my food was scattered all over the floor and the cat was pigging out! I guess I was suppose to share with the cat and didn't get the memo.

All in all I had a really nice day.

I get to sleep in until 10 or 11. Which to some is nothing but to me is everything. I have insomnia and normally have to fight working every day due to lack of a good night's sleep. But now, being laid off for one month, if I wake up at 4, 5 or 6 and stay up an hour, I can go back to bed. That is when I seem to get my best sleep. Kuddos to the little things!

My son came over, fixed my tractor mower, and mowed my entire huge front lawn! It looks beautiful, and I am very thankful and happy today!

Yes I love that feeling too! With a lot of hard work and 3 days I managed to mow the whole place by myself. My son did have to come home and wrestle the mower out of a hole I forgot was there and got it stuck in.

Looks great and I love the way it smells!
