I'm in NY and they don't allow a casino to have any table games like poker, craps, blackjack, etc.
They can only have machines. Makes no sense. But every state has different laws.

But to me it doesn't matter. I rarely gamble. I rather invest. I'm too much of a sore loser.

I have no idea how it can even be questioned or debated about poker being gambling. It's quite obvious. ...

The only reason I still exist is because my mother does.

How would the country survive without the stock market vs surviving without poker? I really don't see how you can compare the two.

If it costs states a million dollars to regulate online poker and poker brings in less than a million in revenew to the state, then it's not going to be legal. Maybe it's not legal because it's not cost efficient.

I like the feedback thanks everybody so far :)
I've enjoyed a part time income legally for several years now in NJ thanks to them allowing poker online here. No I don't win every day or every week but when the year is over I consistently have positive years. There is a lot of variance in poker and I can play correctly on a given night and still lose all 15 tournaments I play (I mostly play multi player), but with proper bankroll management and enough time in I am investing in myself and know I will in the long run turn a profit.
