hybrid vehicles
Has anyone dickered over price on a hybrid recently?

DH and I are looking at the Camry hybrid.. our dealerships do not have what we want and don't seem to be the type to search and get you one... so I'm wondering if they'll even dicker over the msrp especially since hybrids are selling!

I have never heard of a dealership who won't find you what you want.

A friend of mine has a Prius and actually liked the 06 better than the 2012. He was at a Toyota dealership and while the 06 was already much less than the new model, he got them to lower it another two thousand. He did alot of research and he's a salesman by trade.

Yep, we did just last week, on a Kia Optima. It was an additional 6K to have and only saved about 7 miles to the gal and they wouldn't budge on the price. So therefore we bought the regular model with a price my husband could get them to work with.

I just didn't feel the additional 6K was worth the difference.

we looked at the camry hybrid and they wanted over sticker so we walked away. they are nuts.

We didnt HAVE to get a car, ours run well and get 28MPG so we decided to run em till they are no longer safe and dependable and then see what is out there. Think about it envioromentally -
1. I can buy a lot of gas for 36K.
2. I am using less resources by continuing to drive my existing car as opposed to new steel, plastic and who knows what else.
3. I can spend that money on other things more beneficial to my particular situation i.e. pay down mortgage or student loans

We're going to see just what we want on paper.. and like I told DH, if they don't come down where we want on the hybrid, do you want the regular? I can't get an accurate fair price off the internet .. their database isn't even following the options and prices Toyota's website has! And what we want to trade in isn't even listed to get a trade-in value of it!!!

I really don't want to go into an earlier year since the 2012 is a re-design w/ better fuel mileage.

The car we want.. exactly .. is in Boston. I know dealerships in other states we lived in had no issues trading and getting a car from another dealership.. the one we talked to near us last visit seemed as though they wouldn't.. but we'll see.

Time to win, win, win!!
