Read the fine print - Expensive Exercise DVD
Ordered an exercise DVD directly from the exercise "guru" site, they had a special, cheaper than on Amazon. Included free trial to use whatever online tools, guess to keep track of exercise, weight etc. Well I never used it and was all of a sudden charged $52 for 3 month membership. Was a good thing I keep checking my credit card charges online and not wait till I get statement in mail. Apparently I should have cancelled membership during the free trial. Could not get through on phone for a few days. Sent e-mail to cancel membership. Was informed to call in person to get credit. Well, they did not refund full amount, have to pay $4 which doesn't seem that much but it still annoys me. Only 6 days into membership, am glad I wasn't on vacation to realize it much later. Apparently they use outside billing service and were not able to refund full amount. Well, I am definitely not going to order any more from that site.

Thank you for letting me vent. Feel much better already.

Welcome to the world of "free trials". Many have posted on here about the slimy window that they weren't aware of that was necessary to cancel memberships.

Yep. This is why I NEVER, EVER give credit card info for a "free trial," unless it is a reputable product that I am willing to pay for in the future. All of these places do the same thing--it's free for a couple weeks, then they make it reallllly difficult to cancel in the right time frame, then they make you feel bad about canceling, etc.
