Visiting Chicago Question

So I think I might be in Chicago from Thurs evening on Aug 17th - either Mon or Tues (Aug 21 or 22).

I am looking online to see if I can find tickets to Second City TV. Is that still taped like it was in the old days, or is it more of a theatre? I know my husband wants to go, so am trying to find tickets.

Failing that - Jerry Springer would be funny to go to.

Any other "must-sees" you can recommend?

If everything proceeds as planned - Friday will be busy with my sons boot camp grad and visiting with him.

He'll have to go back to the base in the evenings, so my nights will be free, so Im looking more for an evening activity.

For both Sat and Sun days - his g/f will be with us, so he'll want to spend some time with her too, so I was thinking of catching a baseball game, but looks like they are out of town that weekend?

Navy Pier is pretty awesome these days....There is a lot of activity....music food, boats,rides etc....and Bubba Gump shrimp! The president is in town so be on the lookout! Have fun and carry your money in your front pocket!

I almost forgot! The taste of Chicago is going on through the weekend....Lots of big names in the Pitrillo band shell ...including Kenny Wayne Shepperd......Have fun!

The fireworks are really good, too - even if you head to the pier only for the fireworks, it's worth it!

Second City is still around and you can easily get tickets. One of my favorite comedy places is ComedySportz. If you wanted to see a production, "Wicked" is still playing in Chicago.

The Taste actually ends this weekend, so it won't be there in August. However, there are plenty of other festivals that will be going on. Music is pretty easy to find.

I always recommend this site when people ask about Chicago.

I know the air & water show will be here on Aug. 19th & 20th that is at the lake front from 9am until 4pm, we sit down at the lake but I've also watched from the Observatory at the John Hancock Building.
