I have a quick question

what exactly is the my sweeps thing under my name on the front page? what is it used for?

It is the total of the number of sweeps you have saved in MY SWEEPS. A way of filing the sweeps you want to keep track of. You click on the red circle next to the sweep and it turns red indicating you have saved it in MY SWEEPS.

It's the total number of sweeps you have entered into your "My Sweeps" collection. When you like them. Click on the red button next to them they will turn to a green check mark and then click on my sweeps at the bottom of your page.
