Well here goes.

I posted on the forums that we are going to be getting electric cars next week. It has been a long hard road, several years to get the building in shape, then a long time to figure out what to put in it. We decided on Zap electric cars, Penske truck rentals, and a tire and service shop. This all goes along with our used car business up the street a ways.

It has been so long coming, and now I'm scared to death. How can we possible pull this off? We are getting so much attention from newspapers and local news. Some strange phone calls, etc...

Well today was good...I finally had a day off, so I went and bought school stuff for when I go back to school in about 17 days. Maurice's in now one of my favorite stores...they actually have clothes that fit me now!!! I spent way too much on clothes and bought some other general stuff which I also spent too much on. Getting really excited about going back to school...especially since I have a full tuition scholarship for this year! Well, that and I get a break from Subway for a bit!:thumbs:

Tomorrow Emily's band has their first gig. All three band members are here. Emily is sitting on my bed watching "Invader Zim ". Why my daughter likes this show I have no idea. I've never actually watched it , I guess I should since it seems to be so funny. She's almost rolling with laughter. Emily is the perfectionist of the group. And the one who is most serious. Emily has always wanted to sing. When she was 2 she made up her own version of Holly Jolly Christmas. Instead of "a cup fo cheer" She would sing " a cup of beer".

Alex is still asleep. Alex is the goof of the group. Everything is funny to her. Alex is Emily's BFF. We've known Alex since she was 5. In fact back in the day before her time , her mom and I were best friends. Ahhh to be 17 and goofy again...

Chelsey is the genius child of the group. Everything Chelsey does Chelsey does well. She taught herself to play guitar and can play anything.
Chelsey is visiting with her boyfriend , my son Zach. She got here early this morning to practise. But since Alex has to have her sleep , they'll wait till later.

They have 3 songs up on their myspace page. They will perform the first two and 6 other songs.

Today I spent some time reading the August 2008 issue of NAILPRO magazine. The cover photo is lovely. The shoot took place in NYC with cover model Carol Lago, NY based fashion & beauty editor Karie Frost, nail tech Roxanne Valinoti and NAILPRO Executive Editor Stephanie Yaggy. Carol is wearing a jewel toned dress with a smart vintage cap. This feature has been here for a while but I just haven't been in the blogging mood. I am really in a rambling mood to just blog about nothing in particular.

I am so looking forward to the upcoming sweepstakes convention in San Antonio. A bunch of OLS'rs are going and I just know we are going to have too much of a good time. I went to the Michigan convention last year, thanks to Brent as he had a contest for a trip that I was the lucky winner of.

I kind of wanted to go to a convention but after seeing just how much fun they are I simply HAD to go this year.

Shark Walk and Atlantis pictures

I had a great time at Atlantis in the Bahamas. There were 70 or so friends and family down there celebrating my brother-in-law's 40th birthday. Amazing food, fun water activities, a beautiful place, but very expensive. A couple of lucky slot pulls on the first day down there for a big combined $1500 win definitely helped! I treated myself to a Movado watch and a literal walk through the shark tank with some of the winnings.

One can certainly say I�m living close to the �earth� here.

Some new nonpaying (very possibly, as this is section 8 folks) tenants moved in a few weeks ago.

Happy go lucky, nice folks, you can�t deny. Also the sorts of folks who find having no job during the day no problem. Government�s paying the rent, they got food stamps. Why not sit home, smoke and party all day? Why should THEY want to make a dent in anything but the most respected Trailer Trash society?

Why the hell NOT?

Well, maybe because many of us don�t believe the government OWES us a living and it seems more than a bit cocky or cavalier to SOME of us to sit around ALL the live long day partying and hee-hawing like a barn filled with 5 horses, 3 cats, 2 donkeys and a rooster, doesn�t it? � your window cranked to the widest extent so that not only do your broadcasts echo into all other tenancies with irritating accuracy, people several blocks away can appreciate hearing all the details about how you are �whooping it up.�

Don�t get me wrong. I used to live in a hippy camp and we WOULD sit around laughing like 100 hyenas now and then. But when you�re out in the country, ACTING like you were born in a barn isn�t all that out of place. Smack dab in the middle of lowest of the low income folks in a fairly big city, it seems a bit too cavalier (or am I better to use the word �dumb�?) to BROADCAST that you have no problem killing several million brain cells a day WHILE you let everyone know you�re doing it.

How dare they laugh in the middle of the day when the rest of us misfits are enjoying our depression, lol?

I guess the KICKER Of this is that a friend of mine who is a friend of the �stable crowd� who all hang out in this the biggest whinnier�s room told me he watched them play lottery machines today and go from $500 ahead at one point down to NOTHING. NOTHING.

I�m going, �OMG, R U kidding me?� I play a dollar, and if I win $1.50, I�m CASHING OUT. I�ll put another dollar in, then, and maybe go so far as to lose that, but I still can go home AHEAD. But to have a load in there and be too stupid to stop?

I�m crazy too, you know, but I guess this world really needs ALL kinds of idiots, though I�m more convinced than ever that it has already, obviously secured its quota.

Gotta admit though, I don�t really hear anyone LAUGHING down there tonight . . . Maybe someone sobered up and realized flushing 500 clams down the drain wasn�t all that fun after all . . .

But tomorrow they'll find another bottle, and they won't even remember having 500 clams, whaddaya wanna bet?

When I get our monthly issue of Beauty Store Business magazine, I go directly to the �Gallery� pages in the back of the mag. I always find great new products there. That's right, Monday I called and nothing has been sent and there have been no calls or faxes! Of course I called our attorney, and he is sending copies of the paperwork to the doctors. WHEN WILL THIS END????

6. Using instruments from a soiled container on a client.

7. Not immediately disposing of disposable instruments and supplies that have been in direct contact with a client.

8. Instruments not totally immersed in disinfectant.

9. Not washing hands immediately before a service.

10. Improper cleaning and disinfection of whirlpool foot spas.

11. Improper disinfection of non-electric and electric instruments.

12. Disinfectant not clean or covered.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Our garden is doing so good. I try this recipe yesterday and it turned out well.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread
Makes 2 loaves
3 eggs 1c oil
2c sugar 1T vanilla
2c shredded,peeled zucchini
2 1/2 c flour 1/2c baking cocoa
1t salt 1t baking soda
1t cinnamon 1/4t baking powder
In a mixing bowl beat eggs, oil, sugar, and vanilla. Stir in zucchini. Combine dry ingredients. Add to zucchini mixture. Mix well.
Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until bread tests done.

This evening my friend Susette brought me a page from a recent issue of Life & Style Weekly. She tried this suggested beauty tip that she found inside. My six year old was tongue tied. The skin under the tongue went to the tip of his tongue. They didn't do anything when he was a baby because he could suck fine. And they didn't do any thing when he was a toddler because he could talk fine. But I had two different dentist tell me that the gap in his teeth would be permanent if we did cut the skin under his tongue. So today we went to the dentist to get it done. He was so brave!
