Declawing, Part I

I want to be upfront: I am 100% against declawing.

As a person who works in rescue, I know that a disproportionately large number of cats surrendered for behavior problems are declawed cats.

Unfortunately, declawing isn't like removing a human nail; it's more like amputating our fingers off at the first joint (closest to the nail). In cats, if this procedure isn't done with the utmost of care, the bone can actually start to regrow, causing a lot of pain for kitty...
