Playstation 2 Vent!

This morning I had to re-align the disc tray on my son's Playstation 2 for the second time in a year. The disc tray was stuck halfway out---wouldn't open or close! Sooo aggrivating!
I could have damaged in beyond repair trying to fix it.

You would think that a reputible company such as Sony would do something to better the product. Everyone I know that has this system has had this problem! :worry:

I'm just glad I got it fixed without having to pay a repairman or buying a new system.

Hope, did you get your PS2 new? If so, and it's been less than a year, it's still under warranty. In fact, my husband (who's a video game nut) told me a guy at his work got his PS2 fixed by Sony after the year was up! You might also consider taking it back to the place where you got it; some stores will give you store credit for defective merchandise, even after a year.

How do you fix it? That hasn't happened with mine, but it very well could and it would be nice to know how to fix it when it happens. It would really make me upset, especially since I waited overnight outside of Target to get mine when they first came out.

Hi Beth,

I had to take the top off, and slide the tray back into the track. You have to be real careful not to detach the silver tape that connects the top to the system though.
