I have always lived in NYS, but both of my parents grew up in Altoona and I still have an aunt and uncle and MANY cousins there! I have a lot of great memories of visits there when I was a kid!

I am from Pittsburgh but worked in Altoona for a couple of years. Altoona is a very nice area.

Hi from Pittsburgh!!! We have a local group here in Pittsburgh. Maybe you would be interested in starting an Altoona group. If not, we are here in Pittsburgh and meet the thrid Saturday of every month if you get bored and want to take a little ride. :smile9:

My car broke down in Altoona once ... many years ago! On my way to my home town of Wilkes-Barre. (now I am a Phoenician and loving life without snow!!) :)

Wow, it is great to hear from all the people in Altoona who from those of you who know our area. Altoona is situated between mountains so we have plenty of hills and also an area called "Pleasant Valey" which is flat. It is a great area to raise children. However, we get more than our share of the cold and the snow!
