The patient needs to find a good hospital that treats a lot of cancer and then get several opinions of the possible ways to treat their problem. My friend has a 16 year old girl who went to get her diver's license and found she had lost sight in one eye. She has a cancer in her brain. She had surgery and most of the tumor could not be removed. She is on Chemo at this time. My friend said the most important thing is getting good doctors and trusting them. There is so much information out there you will need the experts to tell what works for the patient you are talking about, each case is a little different. Good luck.

DR.JOHN. As a 32 years of working nurse type I just know a few things. One is that most times when people say "bone cancer" they are talking about metastasis to the bones, spreading from one area to the other. Like, a lady has breast cancer, then they find an area in the brain, then in the bones. Yes, it is "bone cancer" but it has spread from the primary site, the breast. There are some bone cancers, like the one kids get in their legs often, but those can be dealt with pretty well. When the cancer has come from another site the news is usually less good. The one thing is tho' that if the cancer has spread to the bones it is generally very painful and must be controlled with opiates, narcotics, the really strong type. Usually the bones become brittle and break more easily than they normally would. Good luck and God bless to whoever has this.
