I feel I must say something here...I only have two email addresses I enter with (one for my fiance and one for myself). I am on here at least 10 hours a day entering or searching for new contests to post and reading forums. I guess I now feel guilty for winning four instants in one day. It seems no longer fun to post wins, although they are small. If you look through my wins for the year...I have not won a trip, car, tv or such and do not feel the need to make snide remarks to the fellow sweepers who have won the great prizes. I am genuinely happy for them...I guess it is my turn to vent. I am on here everyday, and I push myself to enter just one more contest when sometimes I feel I can't do anymore. Anyway, I guess my point is that I spend a lot of time on this "hobby" (even taking my laptop on vacation with me) and I am just as thrilled with a pair of undies as I was with my biggest win to date...$400 from Pepperidge Farm :frown3:

Just my :twocents: and just venting... :worry:

I think that if you have the luck to win, then keep on going!!!
If you somehow managed to win 1 of the big ticket items everyday you should still keep entering- shoot I would.
There's no such a thing as "Winning Too Much"!

Maybe winning too little-We're all probably afflicted with that!

Hey if someone is giving you grief, its just sour apples. It's just your turn and evidently you work hard at. Do Not feel guilty about it ! Enjoy your rewards and feel proud to announce your wins. Your allowed.

No such thing as winning too much. It's just plain luck and probably hard work. If you are on and enter a lot of sweeps the odds are you are going to win something. It goes in phases.

DOn't feel bad about winning. You are just lucky and persistent. Ignore any snide remarks because people are just being petty if they make comments like that.

I hope your streak continues and you do win the car, Tv, trip etc. GO buy some lottery!! :jump:

I think we are just amazed that anyone could win 4 instants in one day. It's like being struck by lightning! Some people win the instants, some don't. I remember reading here about someone winning 3 trips in one year. How does that happen? Persistance and luck. You are putting in the time. I'm sure something big will come your way!

I agree. I said WOW when I read your post -- 4 instant wins in one day! I thought you had a lot of luck and that you are probably entering more instants than I am.
And I am glad that you posted your wins. Anyone can have a good win streak at any time and it is good to know that. I've won some decent prizes and if I win really big prizes, I will keep entering.
Keep entering and keep winning!

I say be proud!! I would love to win anything and if I won 4 prizes in one day you can bet your bottom dollar I would announce it with pride. It shouldn't bother anyone that someone wins anything. Afterall that is what this place is for. (Plus the added bonus of freinds). I think it is great. Hearing of other's wins gives me HOPE so keep it up!!

Kim,
There is no such thing as too many wins! Ignore any snide or crude remarks, some people are just jealous and aren't happy when other people win. Don't stop posting your wins, no matter how small they are, the majority of people here love hearing that there is hope, I know I do.

If I had won four instants in one day, you best believe that I would be shouting it from the rooftops!!!!

You go, girl!!!!!!!!!!!

No need to feel guilty. Feel happy! Of course we're all jealous but that doesn't mean you don't deserve your wins or you should feel bad about it. Don't listen to anyone who would rain on your parade. Just enjoy your luck and keep on entering!

I know exactly what you're talking about. I discovered that ugly personality trait when I was new to this site. I won the Jolly Rancher prize pack several times because I entered obsessively. I soon quit posting the wins because of the nasty remarks: I must be cheating, I must have a "secret" I'm keeping from everyone else, blah, blah, blah. Good lord--if I'm nuts enough to spend all that time to win a T-shirt and plastic cup, then so be it. The nasty talk escalated over the summer with the Coke Music drawings. Once again, the persistent (compulsive) people who won several times MUST have cheated, MUST have some secret handshake they're keeping from others, blah, blah, blah. Now I intend to post my wins no matter what. I know I'm honest, and the people closest to me know it, too. If someone has a problem with my wins, it is THEIR problem, not mine.

Happy winning, and thanks for all you've contributed to this site. I will be delighted to see you in the Winners Circle again soon! :gvibes:

Besides..I love reading of the wins and that's part of the fun too! :gvibes:

I think you, and everyone else, should post your wins, no matter what the size and how often. To me, it is encouraging. It lets people know that the time they spend just might pay off one day.

There are some people in this world who will not ever be happy (unless they are complaining), and therefore you shouldn't waste your time trying to appease them by choosing not to post your wins. Congratulations on your wins, and I hope you have a lot more to post.

The people who don't like it when others win are the ones with a problem. So you won a few instant prizes--yeah. I like to know that someone is winning when I am not! Keep on winning and you are right, it takes time to enter a whole bunch of contests every day. Good luck and a whole bunch more wins for you in the future. (Some for me too please!)

Did someone make you feel guilty about a really good sweeping day?
Well good for you. That was one good day.
I don't win a heck of a lot but hey I would probably keel over from a heart attack if I won big or a few instants in a day or week . SO it's probably better going at my snail pace little wins.
Congrats! to you.

You must have really good Karma, Kim. It's a shame the people who gave you a hard time just brought there Karma down to a crap level. Now they won't win anything. Too bad. :nana:

I just came across this post and I was shocked that you all missed the boat entirely. This lady does not need your encouragement to "keep it up". She should be advised to quit what has clearly become an addiction - Cold Turkey. Yes, I know I'll get blasted for this again as I was many months ago. But I saw this in my family. If she doesn't break this 10+ hour a day habit it will harm her upcoming marriage and her children if she has them. Re-read her post and you should understand from the facts and tone:

"I am on here at least 10 hours a day entering or searching for new contests to post and reading forums"

"It seems no longer fun..."

"I am on here everyday, and I push myself to enter just one more contest when sometimes I feel I can't do anymore. Anyway, I guess my point is that I spend a lot of time on this "hobby" (even taking my laptop on vacation with me) and I am just as thrilled with a pair of undies as I was with my biggest win to date...$400 from Pepperidge Farm"

This Board needs a support group for addicts. I recommended this before and was shot down. The fact that none of you got this says as much about you as this poor woman. She needs your encouragement to quit. And maybe some of you, and I stress SOME, may want to examine whether this hobby has gotten out of hand for you too.

In the wrong hands sweeping is as addictive as gambling. Don't fool yourselves into thinking it has to be harmless because its all "free". It's NOT FREE. It costs us time instead of money. But isn't time the most precious thing we have? They will print more money. Our lives are finite.

Merry Chirstmas kimluvsdestin!!! Now put your laptop away, cuddle up with your fiance, and enjoy the holidays without sweeps. I hope you make your New Years resolution to redirect your interests, love, and dedication to something more productive and deserving of your time and talent.

Don't feel bad in the least. Sure I've been doing this for a couple years now and can count the small things I've won on one hand, but hey it's all just a matter of luck. But I tell you what, if you're still feeling guilty, just throw some of that mojo my way. That way you'll feel better and I might win a prize before the year is out. Best of luck to you kimluvsdestin and have a merry xmas.

Please don't shout. Typing in all caps is shouting. And everyone has a right to their opinion without having to be subjected to personal attacks such as "mind your own beeswax." Let's try to act like adults.

Ed was trying to help iluvdestin. If it's no fun, why is she doing it? Maybe she just hadn't realized until this very moment that she wasn't having as much fun as she was before. Maybe Ed pointing it out to her will help her do what's right for her; quit or limit her time online or whatever.

It doesn't matter what other people do online or for how long. What matters is that you are happy doing what you're doing and you're not hurting anyone else.

It would be a great thing if everyone on forums (not just this one; I've been lucky enough to see mostly generous and friendly posts) would try to focus on the topic and not on the person bringing up the topic. It's got a name, this process, but I can't remember it no. Oh! I think it's ad hominem.

From http://en2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem:

An ad hominem argument, or argumentum ad hominem (Latin, literally "argument against the man [or person]"), is a fallacy that involves replying to an argument or assertion by attempting to discredit the person offering the argument or assertion. Ad hominem is one of the best-known of the logical fallacies usually enumerated in introductory logic and critical thinking textbooks.

I agree with you Marsha. We may not agree with someone's opinion but there's no need for this gabsmack person to attack someone in a personal
way.
This is the 2nd person to join today that has attacked someone. I would suggest making the joining process tougher but then I probably couldn't get in :).
