Ok...Ok...I know that this is something stupid to vent about, but I was going to make fudge for my two little girls, and it came out runny. Rotten luck!!! I was trying to do it with the stuff that I had on hand around the kitchen and I don't know what I did wrong but it was awful. I am never sure what I do wrong, but have been trying to do this for years and have always screwed it up.
I looked all over the net to find easier recipes, but some of them require a microwave. Mine blew up two weeks ago!!!!
So now I have found a recipe on the back of Kraft Marshmallow Creme. I spent a extra $20 to get all of the crud for it, since I want to enough some for my fellow co-workers too.
Please wish me luck!!! If this doesn't work, I am going to have a mental break down.

Ok..............you asked for it. Here is the worlds easiest fudge recipe.
Supplies:
can of Eagle Brand Milk
bag of reese's peanut butter and chocolate chips(mixed with both in same bag) or just plain chocolate or plain peanutbutter if you wish
vanilla flavoring
Heat can of milk in sauce pan until good and warm. Add chips and stir until melted. Add vanilla flavoring and mix in. Pour into buttered 8in pan and put in fridge until it sets.
Hope this helps. I can't make fudge the other way either.

My mother would sometimes end up with runny fudge also. My dad never let it go to waste though. It would be drizzled over ice cream, cookies, cake or whatever sweet needed more chocolate!!!

This is a little late, but the butter is the culprit. It MUST be at room temperature in order for it to turn out right. I also use the back of the marshmallow creme jar recipe, and it is very frustrating when you spend a ton of money and it ends up runny.
Just be sure that the butter yields to the touch, not too soft. For some reason, if you double or triple the batch, it turns out better.

If your fudge is too mucky and runny you can add some powdered sugar and stir it in. Not too much since it hardens and sets up after you make it. I have used the Kraft marshmallow creme recipe and it is fine. If they tell you to melt chocolate in the microwave, you could also put the choc in a zipper bag and place bag in hot (not even close to boiling) water until the choc melts. Make sure to dry the bag before you remove the melted choc.
Good luck!

I too am a chocolate fudge failure. I also can't make a pie crust. I can make a mean sugar-free peanut butter fudge.

This recipe is from allrecipes.com Its very easy. You may want to add a little more sugar depending how you like your crust. As for fudge. Ive never tried making it but Im excellent at eating it!!!
French Pastry Pie Crust
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
5 tablespoons water
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Mix well, then cut in
shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
2. In a small bowl, combine egg, vinegar, and 4 tablespoons of water. Whisk
together, then add gradually to flour mixture, stirring with a fork. Mix until
dough forms a ball. Add one more tablespoon of water if necessary.
3. Allow dough to rest in refrigerator 10 minutes before rolling out.
If you wrap the finished dough in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge it will keep at least for a few days until you are ready to use it.

My teen age son wanted to give gifts to friends at school, but they could not cost much. I asked him if he wanted to make fudge. We went for the EAGLE SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK recipe and it was pretty easy. We took turns stirring (lots of stirring) and it came out great. Everyone liked it that he gave it to. SUCCESS!! :yum:

i saw this recipe yesterday on 30 minute meals on the food network, going to try to make this tonight minus the currants and not in a wreath shape
1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate morsels
9 ounces (3/4 of a 12-ounce bag) butterscotch morsels
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8-ounce) can walnut halves
1/2 cup (a couple of handfuls) currants
8-inch cake pan, lightly greased with softened butter
Candied cherries, red and green, for garnish, optional
Place a heavy pot on the stove and preheat it over low heat. Add chips and milk and stir until chips are melted and milk combined. Save the empty condensed milk can. Stir in vanilla and remove fudge from heat. Add nuts and currants and stir in immediately.
Cover empty condensed milk can with plastic food wrap and center it in the greased cake pan. Spoon fudge into pan around can, making sure to recenter can if it drifts.
The fudge will set up almost immediately. Garnish can only be added in the first minute or 2 the fudge is in the pan, so work quickly. Decorate your wreath with "holly" made from cut candied red and green cherries. A wreath left plain can be garnished with a pretty fabric bow when serving. Chill covered in the refrigerator and slice fudge very thin when ready to serve, a little goes a long way.
