am in the market for a new camcorder. I was looking and asking at Sears and CC today, so learned some basics. CC was trying to push a JVC, but also SOny. I am pretty sure I want digital..the mini DVD are too new..sic price to high...
I have been watching Hot Deals for some time now and getting even more confused.
This will be mainly for home movies and kids soccer and basketball games.
I really appreciate any help you can direct my way! Everyone here has been helpful in the past and know that I can trust ya!

Consumer Reports in one of their latest issues ( October or November) listed the Panasonic and Sony very high in their reviews of digital camcorders. The issue is at work, but I can get it tomorrow and post the exact model that was rated.

I am looking at them too and so far I have it narrowed down to.....
Sony's DCR-TRV22 MiniDV Handycam.
I started looking at the Digital8 but then discovered that those are the 8 track tape players and the mini DVs are the cassettes tape players of the camcorder world. So the digital8 or "High 8s"are soon to be obsolete.
The important thing for me is to try to get it at a place that offers an extended warranty. The usuall warranty is 90 days. Rex™ offers 2 years. The cost to bench check them is around 100.00 if something happens.
Good luck in your choice!
