Going to Memphis...

Hey all you TN folks!! I'm heading on up to Memphis in a couple of weeks to hang out. My boyfriend is currently working there so I've decided to hang out there for a week. Anyway, he'll be working all day and I was wondering what I should do. I will have a little one with me. So, no bar hopping ;) Any ideas or suggestions will be welcomed with open arms!! with a little one you have to go to the zoo, there's always graceland but im not sure if a little one would be impressed with elvis, there's always the ducks at the peabody, my kids love them, they live at the hotel, beal street is wonderful and they have street performers, i live in middle tn but my brother graduated from dental school in memphis so visited alot, mud island is also good to see what the mississippi is all about, hopes this helps, have fun!!

OKAY...I'm sorry I am bumping a thread that is so old BUT...
My family is talking about taking a trip for christmas and we were saying memphis and/or smokey mountains...how far are they from each other and what are things to do? Can anyone help? I know we wanted to see Graceland one of the days but what other neat things are there? Any hotel recommendations or any info at all would be appreciated. You can reply to this thread or PM me...THANKS :)

My uncle lives in Jackson so when we are back home we meet in Memphis. He takes us to the Rendevouz Resteraunt near the Peabody hotel and its delicious!!! We usually do the tourist thing like go to Beale street and Graceland but I have fun! I hope you have a wonderful time in Memphis!

If you like to gamble you should head down to Tunica, MS. Its about 20 min. south of Memphis.. and there is a smaller outlet mall there. In Memphis... Beale Street ( Hard Rock is there and Elvis Restaurant & other coolness ), Graceland, the Pyramid is cool to look at, the Mississippi river is right there. I think they have boat rides as well- The zoo always looks cool to me - go to the visitors center when you get there - lots of other ideas
