Didnt ebay change the rules about how you had to sell gift cards? Can we sell digital codes? Or, if its a card and the winning buyer wants you to email the numbers from it, is that against the rules? I tried to find more info at ebay but couldnt. Can anyone point me in the right direction where to find the specific rules for gift cards/certificates/digital codes.

I'd call their 1-800 number. I just listed travel vouchers today, and the listing was removed. They were very helpful in explaining the rules & regs. (They said they recently banned the sale of airline travel vouchers) I asked tons of questions, and they explained things real well.

heres the gift cards policy i found:
eBay permits the listing of gift cards, with the following restrictions:
*The value of the gift card may not exceed $500.
*Gift cards may not be sold as pre-sale items and must be in hand at the time of listing.
* Only one gift card may be listed at a time, per seller. No exceptions will be made for sellers with multiple accounts.
* Multiple Gift Cards cannot be combined under a single listing.
eBay, at its discretion, may approve 1st party suppliers, or authorized 3rd party contractors, to sell gift cards in excess of these restrictions.
as far as just emailing them the code i think that falls under "digital items" or "digital delivery" which you would have to meet the digital item requirements (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/selling-digital-items.html) to do that.
thats all i found though. they have a message board on ebay though so maybe you could ask on there. when your on the home page just click community. Plus everyone on there can give you tips on how to protect yourself from getting scammed when you sell it.
I sold an xbox live code on ebay a few months ago and emailed the code to the person but i also sent them the card with delivery confirmation just to be on the safe side so they couldn't say they never received it.

Wow - I am new to ebay and just realized I broke the rules! I recently listed 2 gift cards for CVS to total $50 (one $30 card and one $20 card).
I also listed a $10 Denny's gift card at the same time.
They both sold and so far no problems.
Also - I had the Denny's card sale for 10.25 (it was worth $10). I thought that was odd, but I figured that someone liked the convenience of paying with paypal funds??? I was confused, but oh well.
(yes - I know - After fees and the free shipping I offered, I only cleared between $7 and $8 for the card, but that is fine. I won it last year and we don't go to Denny's to eat. I figured the $7 was way better than the gift card I won't use.)
