McCain claims that drilling here, drilling now is the answer to the energy crisis. McCain claims that Palin has national security experience because "she knows about energy." If energy is so important to national security, why did McCain skip all the votes on alternative energies on the last TWO YEARS? In fact, in June, 2007 the vote on offshore Oil drilling in Virginia failed to pass by a single vote - and McCain wasn't there. If offshore drilling is the answer - why didn't he bother to show up to actually get it done?

In june 2007 he was against off shore drilling,,,he didnt start to support it till he thought that would be an issue to help him win the election. That he has missed all votes on alternative energy doesnt surprise me at all,,,he is NOT going to make alternative forms of energy a priority. You only have to look at where someone has been to see where they might be going.

John Warner, the senator from Virginia, sponsored the bill. apparently Virginians WANTED offshore drilling, unlike Floridians who do not.
