As if to quash the emerging news narrative that John McCain is afraid of the press after going a full month without holding a press conference, the Republican nominee's campaign made the candidate available last night to a local television station in Maine.

If they thought McCain would come under less intensive fire than he would from the national press, however, the campaign was mistaken. A dogged reporter for WCHS pressed McCain repeatedly on Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications for the vice presidency. And while answering, McCain made a number of factual misstatements. A great interview!

So according to McCain, Palins national security and foreign policy experience is that she knows a lot about oil and that Russia is next to Alaska?

McCain is exactly the same as Bush - he's hiring people to fill jobs they aren't remotely qualified to do!

My friend, you're doing a heck of a job!

If McCain believes she is an expert on energy - then McCain obviously knows absolutely nothing about it.

I just watched this video you posted aycorn. It was painful. A lot more people should see this stuff. Dizzying.

I just cannot tell if it was a youtube video made as a joke or the real thing. Honestly, I was laughing at parts of this video and trying to focus instead, but his flailing thoughts were zipping into space and back so it got a little trippy. When you get down to it, it's just sad.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

that interview was painful to watch. McCain doesn't seem to know why palin is on his ticket.

Because she is a women...why can't he just say that is why he picked her! Of course he's a politician so it'll never be admitted. PLEASE PEOPLE WAKE UP!!! This is really scaring the crap out of me. (hmm..maybe I can move to Canada).

Again what experience does she have on foreign policy...if I hear that Alaska is closer to Russia again, I am going to SCREAM!!!!
