We have WW at work. The company pays half the fees and we meet in the lunchroom. We just did a 13 week session and are about to start another one.
I lost about 12 pounds (tomorrow is weigh in) and ....... I lost 13 1/2 inches!!!!!
I'm really looking forward to the next session.

I looked on line and there is a meeting Mondays at 5:30 10min from my house. It's not a great time of day but if I get dinner ready before I go I think it will be ok. I will just have to tell my family that I am going and they have no choice. I'm also thinking of joining Curves.

You can also just do it online, without actually going to any meetings. That's what I'm doing. Maybe I'll do meetings a while later, but for now, this works for me.

Yay! I am glad this group was started - Our group at work started two weeks ago.
They also pay half our fees and the balance is being deducted over 3 pay periods.
We have our meeting tomorrow and hopefully I have dropped a little weight.
It's great to have the pressure and support of your co-workers. Especially when sales reps come in with pastries and bagels.
It's also mixed with all weight ranges and positions in the company - I love it! :highfive:
What are some of the personal goals here?
I would like to look good for a formal ball I am going to in a few months.....

We just had our last weigh in for this session and I reached my 5% goal. It looks like we have enough people for the next session, too.
Our leader gave out free samples of the Fruity Nutty Madness bar.... They sure are good.
If you haven't heard, WW is doing a Lose for Good campaign where they will donate 1 pound of food for every pound lost up to 1 million pounds. I think they donate to your local food bank or other charity! This could be really good for our community because we lost a total of 317 pounds this session. I'm hoping we do as well next session!

I have been going for awhile. When I am motivated and on program I do GREAT! I've lost almost 70 lbs... but I've done some back sliding (gained about 15 or so back) in the last couple of months (the flood and moving, can you say STRESS???) But I still go to my meetings every Saturday morning and will continue to try! It's a great program for those who don't want to be so restricted, you can eat anything as long as you count it. :)

I'm glad to find this group. Just last week I hit the 41.4 mark of weight loss. But I'm a WW veteran of nearly 14 months.
Tomorrow is my weekly meeting and will let you know how I've done.
Will be great to swap info with fellow sweepers and then who knows maybe we can hook up at the NH convention.

We have our first weigh in for the next session today. I weighed this morning and it looks like I have lost over 2 pounds this week.
I am actually wearing a dress that I haven't worn in several years. It's like having a whole new wardrobe.:cheer:

How have you been doing, Beth?
CAMom, did you end up joining?
I lost another two lbs this week bringing my total to 16 lbs! I'd like to lose another 40 lbs before I go to Italy next year. I have another 24 weeks. I might not make it, but I'm going to try my hardest!

Yes, I have an online membership which is pretty comprehensive, complete with all the Etools you'll need for your success. I joined WW when I quit smoking and lost 20lbs in 3 months and I'm still on it. Currently working towards my pre-fifties weight of 145lbs. Also fighting medical issues that put a damper on my attempts, but diligence will pay off. It can be done. :)

We still have 6 months to go, but I'm so excited! I quit smoking and have been saving the money that I would have spent on cigarettes along with all the money I got working overtime this summer. I gotta admit, I don't plan on watching what I eat while I'm there. Hopefully, with all the walking we'll do, I won't do too much damage!

Congrats everybody!
I am totaly stoked this session. I would love to get below 200 pounds before the end of the year. The last time I was under that was when I took Fen-phen. The scare came out and I stopped taking it. Then I had my appendix removed and later my hysterectomy and all the weight came back.
Italy sounds awesome!
We can do it!!!

Weighed in today and got another star. Next goal will be 10%.
WW has a new rewards program our leader just told us about. You buy WW products and save the UPC's and mail them in for points. Mail in cash register receipts for yogart.
Go to: wwincrediblerewards.com to sign up. They have some pretty great rewards (ipods even). The terms and conditions tells you what the products are worth. I bought cookies and 2 yogarts this morning so I started an envelope with the upcs and receipts. You have to mail the receipts, UPC and a form you print out from the site.
Chuck,
If no one has sent you a PM, here's how it goes.
You go in every week on a specific day, pay, weigh in and you will be given a book based on where you are in the program. There are 10 books, I believe, each gives you more info on activities, points, recipes, etc. If you can't get to your regular meeting, you have a card you can take to any other meeting.
PM me if you need any more info!

The week before last I gained, last week I lost a lot. Part of it was water retention. I didn't realize I would retain 2 pounds from taking Benedryl for a week straight! But I lost that 2 pounds plus another two the next week.
I was bad this weekend on my birthday. (I was drinking buttery {body part that rhymes with ripples} and they sure were good. I was doing a lot of dancing, as well as doing a lot of work Saturday at the haunted trail. The scale looks OK this morning.)

I'm on several meds and never thought of these current meds or even OTCs could affect my weight. I'm going to talk to the meeting leader about that one. I have been taking natural water pills for years (except before surgery) and that keeps my water retention to a minimum. I also have IBS that is complicated by frequent (2-6 times a year) bowel obstructions, so I have to watch for that. It really adds weight to you when you are stopped up. I just had one this past week and had to take meds for that. Anyway..
What, if any, exercise do any of you do along with WW? I'm about to start water exercise and will soon be able to go back the Shapes (just like curves) after 10 months of not going. (It's upstairs & my Drs didn't want me taking stairs before knee surgery.)
My weight got up to 216 during that time, but I started losing weight in August and had lost 11 pounds before my last surgery (Sept. 19) and only gained .5 lbs when I wasn't moving much. Since then I've lost 5 more lbs.
My starting weight with WW last week was 200.2 lbs. I'm wearing 14s & 15s.
My goal weight is 165, but 170 would make me happy. I want to fit back into my wardrobe of 11s & 12s.
I'll update my weight after the meeting.

Congrats Jen and Jen's Mom (Sorry name not given) on your weight loss. Hearing this helps everyone on their weight journey.
My plateau has come back as I went up .2 lbs for the 2nd in a row after losing the 1.4 pounds 2 weeks ago. Since I'm seeing so many "2's" in this sentenance think it may be what I shed this week.
For those of you that have a Smart and Final near you they carry Orville Redenbacher's 100 calorie mini bag ALL year. 42 bags for about $10.75

Thanks for the post. My mom's name is Pam. My friend I've known since I was 2 also joined with us. So I have some good support. Tempest (the friend) & I did our first water exercise class today and we are so out of shape. My mom(who taught the class) did a WHOLE lot better... I'm hoping to lose at least a couple of pounds this week, but I'm not sure if that will happen since muscle weighs more than fat..

i am thinking of starting weight watchers.
i currently weight approximately 180 and i am 5"2 !!!
it costs 39.95 a month for meetings in advance and use of online program, which is what i think i will do it just seems so expensive :(
when i try alone i will lose 20lb gain 10, lose 20 gain 10 etc, then randomly gain 20. it sucks. so i think i just have to bite it and cough up the money if i want to keep the weight off.
do they ever offer promotions to get a lower monthly fee?

Hey Faye,
I joined weight watchers about a month ago and I've lost 10lbs so far. I pay $39 a month with the online tools, it is pricey but it's worth it in my mind. When I diet on my own I do the same loss then gain. You might wanna wait until they do free registration again. I wish we had smaller groups out here in the US in the UK we had smaller groups which were more cheaper.

My little update. I weighed last night and lost 5.4 pounds! That is more in one night than the previous 3 weeks! I've now lost 10.6 pounds with weight watchers and 27 pounds in the last 6 months. I'm very excited to be under 190 for the first time in like 4 years. Ok so I weigh 189.6, but I'll take it! Congrats on everyone else's weight loss & keep it up! It really does work!

I'm going to be joining in here in a while. I'm a lifetime member at WW but have spent the last several months (since running the Minnie Marathon in May) majorly pigging out! December 10th, 2008, 1:40am
Congrats! That is a lot of weight to lose in a week. I skipped last Monday's weigh in(I was really sick), but I went last night and I lost 2 more pounds! I'm very excited. I'm up to 13 lbs since joining ww (10/20) and 30 lbs since May! I am so proud to say I now weigh 187.2! :jump: I know it still sounds like a lot, but my skinniest ever as an adult was 149 and that made me a size 8. (although EVERYONE thought I was a smaller size, some even thought I was a 4!) I haven't been under 193 in over 4 years! And I was at my heaviest before my first knee surgery this year in April at 217. My goal is between 160-165. The chart has my height/weight range at 132-164. I just want to be a size 11.
I am SO proud of myself and even PROUDER(more proud?) of my MOM!! She has lost 17.4 lbs since 10/20! SO AWESOME!! My mom has always been "bigger" but I never really thought of her as fat. She looks amazing and her self confidence is definately a big reason for that. She now weighs 211 (SHHHH, don't tell her I told!) which she hasn't weighed in I don't even know how long. She has less than 5 pounds to lose before she gets her 10% goal. I have 7 more until my 10% goal. I just can't express how happy I am that my mom & I are doing this together and succeding! :cheer:
I'm hoping to lose at least 2 more lbs before we go to New Orleans for my cousin's graduation. (I really want that next 5 lb star!) But it would be great to lose 4 lbs so I can be comfortable in my 13's. Although, I probably will gain in NO. I love the food there, but I will be counting my points!
Anyway, good luck everyone! I hope you succede in your goals! Sorry this was so long, but I have no one to talk to about this!
carenyllie
December 10th, 2008, 5:16pm
That's awesome!!! I was beginning to think I was the only left around here too....it's nice to know you're still here with me.
I did lose 3.5 my first week but when I went back on Monday I was back up 1 pound. I expected it though. My daughter gave me her nice cold and my grandmother had "feed a cold, starve a flu" engrained in my head, so, I fed my flu. THEN, the time of the month rolled around right on top of it! So, I wasn't surprised that I gained.
I hope to lose 3 pounds again this week. My big challenge this week is on Saturday though when we go to my SIL's for Christmas. She always has so much good food! I just have to watch myself.
TX_Jen1634
December 11th, 2008, 12:47am
I take natural water pills that really seem to help with water weight. I'm on Depo, so I don't have that time of the month thing, but the water pills always kept bloating down. I get them at Wal-Mart and they are called Sundown Natural water pills, if you are interested. My mom & I have been taking them for years now. She went out of town for 4 days & forgot them & put on 4 lbs.. The next weigh in, she lost 7 (3-4 was just water). So I don't skip those!
I have a Christmas party on Saturday too! I'm going to do the same thing I did for Thanksgiving. I ate almost everything, just very small portions. It seemed to work for me. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything & I was full pretty easily and I didn't PIG OUT! Good luck on your party!
I'm really worried about next weekend because my mom & I are going to New Orleans for my cousin's college graduation and staying from 19-24! I am having my favorite food ever, which is a pasta dish... who knows how many points that is!?!? But when I thought about the actual ingredients, they are mostly pretty healthy..
We are also going to go to a WW meeting while we are there so we don't get that week skipped. And we are taking some of our our food as well. I hope my 2 cousins' eating habits don't wear off on us! Also have to find some way to work out while we're there!!

I have weigh in today. I think it's our last or second to last meeting for this session. (We have 13 week sessions at work.)
I hope I have lost some I have been going up a little, then down a little. Some was water weight, I can tell from my fingers.
I need to start moving again.
I tend to do very good at the start of sessions, then slack off.
I'll edit this afternoon to say how I did.

So how did you do Guru?
Jen, I have water pills...I should take them. It takes all I have to take a vitamin every day. Why do they have to make them like horse pills?!?! They're HUGE!
I did the same thing for Thanksgiving! I think I'll do that again at Saturday's party. That way I get a taste of everything, I get well satisfied, and usually I can count it for lunch and dinner because we don't start to eat until 2 or 3pm.
I ran tonight...not very much...but still, I got on that treadmill! I actually sweat too! LOL!!!

Good job on running! I've severely been slacking on working out. I have a membership to a women's gym like Curves, but it's called Shapes.. I haven't gone in almost 2 weeks.. But I have some health issues.. and I'm lazy to boot. I'm definately going to work out Sunday & monday and maybe tomorrow before the party..
I have never had a problem taking pills.. I can take my whole handful of meds and vitamins at once. 3 big horse pills and 6 other ones.. The water pills I take aren't really big though. If you have a problem with taking pills, you might try the brand I recommended.
Good luck Carenyllie!
Good luck Guru!

And I lost 2.4 lbs! I don't know how that happened! My WW weight loss is now 15.4 lbs. My total since May is up to just over 32 lbs. I really didn't think I'd lose this week because my stomach has been crazy... I'm hoping I can at least maintain while I'm out of town..
I can't remember the last time I was under 185!
I hope everyone else is doing well!

Congratulations Jen! That's awesome! I weigh in Mondays as well. I lost 2.5! I noticed that I have a 1 lb. credit since they switched us over to new books on the new program. The girl subtracted wrong so my new total reads -5.0. It should be 4.0. Oh well, I'll take it any way I can get it! LOL!!!

I only lost .2 last week. I think I went into hibernation mode. All I want to do is eat and sleep....
I need to get out and do something.
I have been taking some fiber supplements and am not going regularly. That happens everytime I take fiber. I need to find one that doesn't constipate me.
We started on the new books, too. This week we have open house for anyone who wants to join for the next session. We have to have 15 total people to keep going. I've been inviting everyone!

Congrats Carenyllie! :encore: It is so nice seeing a loss on the scale. Guru, my mom also lost .2 this week, but she wasn't bummed because she was sure she was going to gain. I'm happy to see any loss or even staying the same.. It's the gaining I'm not a big fan of. I've only gained once, but my mom has gain 2 or three times without a good reason for it. I'm not going to stop just because I see a gain though. Our bodies are all different and have their own little ups & downs. Good luck everyone!!
PS: I made the goal I set for myself before going to see my family! They don't have any idea how much my mom & I have lost. They will be quite suprised. I'm so psyched!

Sorry forgot to post on Sunday, but it's probably because I gained 1.2 last week. Ouch!!
Will definately make up for this next time as I'm having a colonoscopy Friday, 12/26 and haven't ingested any solid food since midnite on Thursday. Whatever happens Sunday, gotta admit this slight weight gain is only one week. Overall I know didn't pig out on sweets, etc. as in years past.

Good luck with the colonoscopy. I hated having that test done. I haven't been to ww since I've been on vacation, but I weighed myself on the scale here at my aunt's house when I got here and I weighed today and it looks like I haven't gained or lost. I'm cool with that.
Good luck everyone!

Thanx Jen, the test went well. But doctor said next time I'd need an anesteologist because my colon was so twisted. Claimed he could see I was in pain,, but I didn't feel a thing. 5 years from now I probably won't even remember he said that.
Went to my WW this morning and it was the smallest crowd I've seen since I started on 7/29/07. Today I shed 1 pound and hoping I will cont. that way to reach my next goal of breaking the 160 mark. As of today I'm at 166.6 and in 7 months on my 2 year anniversary with WW would be happy if I reach 140.

So, it's been a while since I posted. I gained .2 tonight.. but I'm still down 16.2 lbs at this point with ww. (33 for the year) I'm 184 and I have 3.8 lbs to my 10% goal. I think my complete goal is 162. I've had a hard time lately with my stomach. I'm hoping to get more regular soon. I'm also going to the allergist tomorrow so maybe I can stop taking so much allergy medication. Hopefully everything I'm doing to help with my pain will also help with my weight loss as well.
Good luck to those of you still going to WW!

Jen, you did better on this week's weigh in than I. Yesterday I gained .8 pounds, not as bad as previous years. Overall this holiday season I definately ate "healthier". Since joining WW (nearly 18 months ago) I've lost 42 pounds. My dream is to get to goal by my 2 year anniversary which is July 29th.
Factually I'd be happy with my 30% goal, shed 62 lbs (This goal 146 & Lifetime at 130lb)

ok two full days down. I am like many americans. I want instant gratification. I go on a diet I step on the scale and the next morning I weigh to see results. now I know the theories about not weighing everyday and I know diets take time. I know this but still I want to see results. So, I started WW on Tues. I drank my coffee for breakfast and then drank nothing but water, followed the plan, etc. I got up yesterday morning and stepped on the scale and had lost 0.2 lbs. Not what I wanted to see. Usually just drinking all that water and everything will help lose some water weight or something.
But still, I stuck with it. I kept going with the thought in mind that if I haven't lost at least a lb by monday I would cancel. I am on a free 7day trial. Well I got up today and was down another 1.6lbs making it 1.8lbs in 2 days. Whew! Ok I won't obsess so much now but I just wanted to make sure that it was going to work.
I can do this. It's really not that bad. Thanks for reading my crazy rants.
PS. Drinking all that water is keeping me in the toilet!

Haven't posted in a while...but I'm still here!
I maintained over Christmas and lost 1 pound over New Years. These past 2 months I've lost MUCH slower than I have in the past but I just want to lose no matter how long it takes. I've come to accept that it may take a while and that helps me keep on track. Now that all that holiday stuff is over, I should do better anyway.
I saw a picture of a girl on Facebook that did WW. She was 150 when she started (I was 154) and she was 115 when she finished, and she was the same height as me. I could see a real difference in her face! It thinned out so nicely! So, this has really inspired me.
My other thing has been my running. I've vowed to run EVERY day this year, even if just 1 mile, I want to run every day without fail....so far, so good...I'm 7 for 7.
Also, I wanted to let everybody know about a great website that will help when you eat out. It's www.dwlz.com. It's short for Dottie's Weight Loss Zone. Dottie lost a lot of weight with WW years ago and helps other people with the program. If you go there and click on "DWLZ Restuarants" it has a list of nearly every restaurant with the point values for most of the foods. I usually print it out and bring it to the restaurant with me! Hope this helps.
Stay on track everyone!
Drink your water!
And MOVE MORE!!!

I think it is great that we are still going to WW, if we lose or gain. It's so important not to give up just because the scale isn't being friendly. My mom gained this past Monday, even though she worked out every day and rode her bike over 5 miles in the week.. But she says she doesn't care about the dang scale because her clothes are literally falling off. She can see a difference in her body. I am happy to say that I can as well.
Last year in May, I was at my highest weight ever at 217. My size 17s with stretch were skin tight. When I started WW, I was at 200.8 and my 15s (with stretch) weren't super tight, but they weren't loose either. Currently, I'm at 184 and can fit in my 13s (with stretch; I love that stretch!) or 14s without stretch. I haven't been able to do that in 5+ years. Everybody keeps telling me how skinny I look, which is nice, but not exactly true. My face is slimmer and I think that's what the girls notice. I think the guys are paying attention to other features... (I have a ton of guy friends)
As soon as I get dressed up again, I will post some pics of me at my top weight and my current weight.
Good luck to everyone this week and every week!! Keep going! :bike:

Ok, this afternoon, I went throught the Taco Bueno Drive through to get my dd a taco. When I pulled up they had a couple of new items and one was a black bean bowl. It showed a pic of a bowl of black beans with the buzz words fat free and vegetarian. I ordered it and grabbed the bag and went to drop dd at grandma's. Got to gma's for my treat and discovered it was not the black beans but pintos and cheese. We were too far away to go back and they smelled so good. I ate them.....to the tune of 10 points.
It was ultimately my fault. I have free will. But I ordered the good thing. I hate it when I screw up on accident. When I knowingly cheat it's one thing. I had to dip into my weekly allowance just to eat dinner.:mad3: I was trying to be so good.

Do you belong to WW now? If so, there should be some suggestions for meals in the program materials you got when you signed up. If not, do you like to cook? There are alot of recipes on the internet that have WW points. If you like simple and easy, do you have a crockpot? I love mine for making chicken and huge pots of soup.
is online just as good?
I think this depends on you. Some people need the the support of in person meetings, others do fine on their own.
Also, what excercises to do when one can't afford a membership somewhere?
Is there a library around you that you can rent some dvd's from? Is the weather good enough where you live for you to walk outside? You can visit the websites of shape or fitness or self magazines and look up workout routines.
Hope this helps some!

Congrats on joining this group. Yes it can be overwhelming at first, but reading over the books and taking it slow helps a great deal. If you have your calculator or something to figure points when shopping it is a plus.
Quick and easy for now can be stocking up on Lean Cuisine and/or Eat Right (At Vons/Safeway) frozen meals. These both already have the WW points and makes tracking plus putting some variety in your meals VERY EASY. The Smart Ones by WW in my opinion just don't offer the variety especially that Lean Cuisine has.
As far as joining WW on-line I've read and heard my leader say that those who attend meetings lose 3 times as much weight as those who do on-line only.
And exercise, you'd be surprised when looking at the WW list what simple things like laundry, cleaning, etc. adds up. Just walking when you shop can be considered exercise.
Good luck and again, welcome.

Quick and easy is OK. Alot of quick and easy things have points already figured for you. Here's an average day for me.
Breakfast
2cups coffee with 2tbs each of fat free flavored creamer 2pts
1pack of quaker oats low sugar oatmeal 2pts
1 yogurt Weight watchers brand has 1pt
lunch
smartones or lean cuisine 4-6pts
1cup salad greens with 10sprays of salad spritzer 0pts
Dinner
Whatever I'm cooking for my family modified for my diet. My vegies are prepared without margarine. I don't eat the mac and cheese. I usually grill our meats on the foreman grill anyway. I weigh out 3-4 oz of meat and eat 2 servings of vegies. Usually 6-10 pts
In the afternoon I usually snack on raw vegies or a piece of fruit.
In the evening I snack on popcorn (low fat snack size bags) or maybe a piece of low cal cheese. 1 snack cup of sugarfree jello with 2 tbs of low fat coolwhip is 0 pts. i guage my snacks based on how many pts I have left.
This is just an example. WW is pretty flexible.
I am using the online program because I find it hard with my kids to attend meetings. I like the online point calculator. It is so easy to keep track.
I bought an inexpensive pedometer at Walmart and am keeping track of my steps. I walk for excercise and I have a yoga dvd.
I hope this helps. :gvibes:

So it's been a crappy week for me.. I have eaten tons of sweets! I craved them so bad and I just gave in to it. I'm sure I'll find out on Monday how many pounds I've gained. I take responsiblity for it, but I also blame my drs office. I was supposed to get my depo shot last tuesday and didn't get it until this wednesday, so my hormones went nuts! I'm so moody and PMSy that I can barely function! I'm hoping it'll calm down in a few more days..
Everybody keeps asking how I can possibly lose weight while on depo (it apparently causes a lot of weight gain) but I'm not really having a problem, except when my shot is late!
I lost it tonight when someone was rude to me & I just had a freakin' mental breakdown!! I am sick of the crazy hormonal crap!!
Please, everyone makes sure your hormone levels (& all your levels for that matter!) are normal! It really affects weight loss.
Good luck everyone!

Purple Mist and TX Jen,
The fact both of you have gone down several dress sizes is SUPER. I'm down 2 sizes my self and can see the change in both my face as well as my hips. Today I put on a size 14 pair of shorts, I couldn't fit into 5 months ago.
Since joining WW on July 29, 2007 I've lost 44.4 pounds. It's not been easy at times, but I keep plowing through and everything will work out. During the 3 week Winter Break from work (I'm an office asst. in a middle school) I gained 1.2 lbs. the first week, lost 1 lb. and went up .8 lbs with a loss of 1 lb. the week before I returned to work. So things do balance out.
Check out the list of exercises as you'd be surprised what household chores can earn points. A walk around the mall for 30 minutes, a museum or ????? earns a point and the longer you do the activity the more points you earn.
Drum roll plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At today's weigh in, I shed 1.6 pounds. This is my largest amount of weight lost in the past four months. My progress chart looks like a see saw. By next week (18 months after I started) hoping to hit the 45+ loss mark.

Hi gang! Last Wednesday was my first week weigh in and I lost 8 pounds! Didn't do so hot yesterday, but I'm back on track. I bought one of the point calculators last week and LOVE it. It's so easy to use in the grocery store..much easier than the slider thingy.
I found some Kroger brand Lite Wheat bread: 2 slices = 1 point!
I also made the potato soup tonight (1 cup = 1 point). I'm a big girl, so I thought no way will 1 cup fill me up..WRONG! And it's delicious. So my dinner was
1 cup potato soup= 1 pt
1 toasted cheese sandwich = 3 points (used the bread I mentioned and a slice of weight watchers cheese
1 glass fat free milk: 2 pts.
I am STUFFEDDDDDDDDDD
I love this program so far. I couldn't beleive I lost pounds! I ate a slice of Chuck E. Cheese pizza one day and still lost weight? This is for sure a diet for me! Wishing everyone luck at their next meeting.....................

I have a question for those of you doing the WW or who know someone who had success on it: Once you get to your goal weight do you keep counting points? Im considering trying WW but one thing thats always made my shy away from these program things is I keep thinking what happens when you lose it all? Can you eat healthy and keep it off or do you have to stick strictly to the point system? I know it always seem you gain it back so much faster than you lose it.
Also does the plan adjust for plateaus and what not? It seems like whenever I lose I'll hit a snag and it just wont budge, does your plan change to make up for these things? Thanks for any info!

I lost .2 lbs this week.. but it's my own fault for not losing more. I have one friend who is just a bad influence on me and makes me cheat...
Anyway, my mom got her 25 lb star this week. She's doing amazing. She's at 201 even. She hasn't been that low in over 15 years.. Once she gets to 190, it'll have been over 20 years since she's been that low. I just can't say how proud I am of her!
foolofatook, the ladies who had met their goal in the group I go to do continue to track points. Although they make much healthier food choices, if they don't track, they tend eat bigger portions and not always remember what they ate that day and over eat and such.

Anyway watching a bit more this week and trying to drink more water. I found once by concentrating on that it seemed to help push that ugly fat away. Also trying to stop eating at least 30 mins. before bed.

I want to share one of my recipes from our superbowl party last night.
Buffalo chicken bites
1 boneless skinless chicken breast half (3pts)
1/2 cup of Frank's buffalo wing sauce (0pts)
cooking spray (0pts)
2Tbs Bleu cheese dressing (3pts)
celery sticks (0pts)
Trim any extra skin or fat from chicken breast and cut into bite sized cubes.
Spray a nonstick pan with cooking spray on medium high heat saute chicken cubes til done.
I use a george foreman grill and spray with cooking spray and cook until they start to brown.
pour wing sauce into a zip top bag. Add the cooked chicken to the bag and shake until the chicken is coated. Remove chicken with a slotted spoon to your plate.
serve with bleu cheese dressing and celery sticks.
You can use a low fat/low cal bleu cheese or ranch dressing for fewer pts if you wish.
I also sprinkled my raw chicken with cavendar's greek seasoning before cooking.
For six pts (or fewer if you use low cal dressing) you can have the taste of buffalo wings without all the calories.

Found that my tracking ALL food which goes into my mouth (even those Costco/Sam's Club samples) deterred me from eating things at times.. In addition, drinking water, tea, etc. helps lose even the tiniest bit.
Tiny or Big, loss of weight is shedding something we no longer have.

Congrats to you and your mom on such great losses since starting in October. What's your secret? I've been at a plateau since October and can't seem to get out of it.
Thanx in advance for whatever advice you give me.

I missed weigh in last week because I was out of town in training. The school provided lunches and I stuck with the salad with a low fat dressing. I said no to the brownies, cookies, donuts and cinnamon rolls. I took 2 point breakfast bars to eat for breakfast and snacks.
I hope I lose this Thursday. I am at a really down place at work. My boss is a pain.
Congrats to everyone who lost and to everyone who is trying!

My secret is no secret. I always have a salad before a big points meal. It makes me full faster and stops me from eating so much. I drink almost only water. I eat a lot of fresh fruit & veggies.
My mom's biggest helper is taking celery to work with her.. she eats that instead of whetever is around when she just need to chew something. She amazes me.
I wish I could say that I work out a lot, but the truth is I barely work out at all because of my knees and back. But my mom teaches water aerobics 4 times a week and does a circuit program called Shapes (like Curves) at least 5 times a week.
That's about all I can think of right now. I'll update if I think of more.

Yea for me as I shed .4 pounds at my weigh in yesterday.
I'm going to really try on a regular basis (weather permitting) to walk at least 20 minutes during my lunch at work. On those "off" days will attempt a round on the treadmill for that long as well.

Ok, I didn't post last week because I didn't go to my meeting since I was out of town. I did go last night (just to weigh in, I wasn't feeling too good) and I stayed exactly the same. I'm happy since I ate so badly this last week with Valentine's chocolates and Girl Scout cookies!! Hopefully, I will get myself back on track this week.
Good luck everybody!!

Well we're twins, TX Jen as at my weigh-in Sunday, I didn't budge either. Better to be at ZERO rather than going up, I guess. Need to watch the points this week because starting Thursday the middle school I work at is doing Bye Bye Birdie and I'll be helping with concessions. Yikes as it's mostly baked goods.

So where is everyone? Over a month since the last post.
Great news this time for me, as on my Sunday weigh-in shed 2.4 pounds. Getting slowly but surely to my 50 lb. weight goal before the Natl. Sweepstakes Convention.
Happy Spring Holidays to one and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to join this group! I just joined WW online after finding out my insurance won't cover weight loss surgery of any kind. :bhead:
I have about 170 to lose. :jawdrop: A very daunting task but I feel up to it!
I only just joined WW a few days ago. Already I have had some setbacks. Like last night dh and I went to the casino for dinner (a buffet). I did not make a total pig out of myself but I did eat a piece of chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I am just taking this one day at a time and trying to make the best decisions possible each day as I work toward my goal.
Good luck everyone! I will try to check in weekly (I weigh myself on Monday's).

It's been nearly 6 weeks since anyone posted. Hope you all are doing good on this weight loss journey.
At my Weight Watchers meeting today, the weigh in was my best in months. Shed 1.4 lbs. this past week. Down a total of 47 pounds and hoping to reach my 50 lb. goal by June 30th.
Anyone coming to the Natl. Sweepstakes Convention in New Hampshire over 4th of July weekend?

I'm here, but I have gained nearly all of my weight back because I just gave up after being sick for over a month. I have started anew, tracking and eating better again. I can't workout since knee is literally popping out of place and I lost my knee brace at or Relay for Life in April. (I did walk 16 laps with & without the brace [it was SOOOO hot & it made me sweaty] even though I got blisters after 3 laps.)
I hope to do better for myself. I need it.
I hope everyone else is doing much better than I have been.

Wonder how everyone is doing on their "weight" journey as it's been nearly 5 weeks since any posts. I've been up and down in shedding and then finding my "lost" weight.
However after getting back from the National Sweepstakes Convention which BTW was fantasic, I gained only 2 lbs. Not bad considering I didn't seriously track on the computer or in a trakker, just tried to eat better.
So how are you doing?

Great to hear about your shedding of weight due to WW. :twoclap:
Mind sharing some of your secrets? I'm on a plateau and could sure use some help to shed a few more pounds and hit my 50 lb. loss mark. Eventually my goal is a total of 78 lbs. In 2 years plus I've shed and kept off 42.6 as of this morning.

Don't know how much I can assist. I do know that I deal with my cravings with coffee. I get all kind of nutty cravings, but I love coffee (zero points) so I will have me a cup of coffee. But I have only been doing this for about 6 weeks now, so I certainly do not know all of the tricks. I did learn this...I have 4 kids that I must cook for. Often times I cannot cook the healthy stuff as they find it yucky. So I fix my kids dinner and I check out the points and decide if I really want to eat it. If I don't then a big bowl of bran flakes and 1 cup of 2% milk (4 points).

And considering I went out to lunch twice with co-workers this was a definite surprise. Had some great Mexican food but certainly killed my points allowance.

HI, this is the 5th or 6th time I've done WW and I never made lifetime. This time I am in it until I get there! I've hit a plateau the last 3 weeks though and it kills me at the scale!! I don't realize how much I look forward to those stickers and awards until I don't get them for a long time! I have been within 1 stinkin' pound of another 5 lbs loss and it keeps eluding me! AAARRRGH! Sorry for the vent....

I've been on the program for a year now. I lost 30 pounds. Only 16 more to go! I just started something called the wendi plan. It divides your weekly 35 points up so you eat a different amount of points daily to keep your metabolism guessing. I have my first weigh in tomorrow since i've started this, so i'm kinda excited.
If you have e tools there is a thread about it in there. Good luck to all on WW!

Is there a support thread for peeps who are NOT doing WW but are watching their eating and loosing weight?
Hubster and I have both lost between 15 and 20 lbs each in the last 3 months or so. But, we are just doing the old 'eat less, exercise more' thing. Nothing formal. We started by cutting portion sizes and now add more fresh veggies and fruits and limiting white refined bread products. I still eat my favorite things in moderation. I have lost and gained so many times of the years I finally figured out that depriving myself completely never works for very long. If I tell myself I can't have it, then I want it even more. Now I ask myself how much do I want it. If I really do, I eat a reasonable portion of it and move on. Seems to work.
Good Luck to everyone!!!

I'm here to vent! THis time around is SO hard! I've at this five months and struggle to lose even as much as 1 pound a week! Maybe it's because of my age (almost 40 now), but it's just not coming off like it has in the past! I've addedworkouts for the past 4 weeks, thinking that that will rev things up, but I had noticed no difference! This week I was one pound away from getting to 25 lbs off and I followed the plan to the letter. I normally lose 1 lb a week anyway so I figured it was a lock- nope. only lost .2 this week and can't explain it. I'm so disapointed!

November 29th, 2009, 11:34pm
Yea, hard for me to believe but I shed 2.4 at this morning's weigh in. What helped me this week is drinking more water than usual plus keeping better track of my "walking time" and "cleaning time" as those add up for activity points.
It can be done as this makes the 5 week out of the past 6 something has come off. So even if you shed .2 it's less than you weighed the week before.
Happy Holidays everyone.

At Sunday's weigh-in I was surprised to hear I'd shed some weight. And even more surprised when I looked at my sticker which said it was 1.4 pounds.
Let's hope I can keep up these losing ways till at least 2010 and beyond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CA Mom,
Good idea to start a new thread in 2010. Since tomorrow is myfirst weigh in for the new year we can do it then.
Will be helpful to hear what other's are doing with regard to weight loss. And even products they find that help to keep this resolution made by many and kept by few.
