Now it's time to campaign against Eli Lilly!!

Elanco, a division of Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY), today announced that Lilly has signed an agreement to acquire the worldwide rights to the dairy cow supplement, Posilac® (sometribove), as well as the product's supporting operations, from Monsanto Company (NYSE:MON).

"Global dairy demand is increasing, outstripping supply, and consumers are seeing rapidly rising prices," said Jeff Simmons, president, Elanco. "With the purchase of Posilac, Elanco can enhance its overall product portfolio and work together with the industry to provide dairy farmers more options and give consumers affordable choices. Critically, we remain focused on the health and care of the cow in working with farmers to increase global milk supply.
"With our rich history and experience in the dairy industry, Elanco is the ideal steward of this vital technology," Simmons said. "Elanco remains committed to using science to address the growing need for safe, affordable food; and to choices for consumers, retailers and producers."

CAN YOU SAY CONFLICT OF INTEREST?!?!?!?

Eli Lilly is one of the major insulin manufacturers, a drug used for diabetes (type 1 and type 2). Recombinant bovine growth hormone has been shown through studies to increase the risk of diabetes, particularly in children. So this is quite the win-win situation for Eli Lilly. Create more diabetes through the use of r-bgh in cow's milk, and then provide the drugs needed to solve the problem that you helped create. Profits, profits, profits....

Remember what the did with the Homeland Security bill?

The Homeland Security Bill had some words injected into it to immunize vaccine makers against the threat of lawsuits. Apparently, pharmaceutical manufacturer Eli Lilly and Company needed such protection, being the target of a massive class-action suit on behalf of autistic children whose parents believe they were brain-damaged from the mercury (thimerosol) added to vaccine as a preservative.

Homeland Bill Rider Aids Drugmakers
Measure Would Block Suits Over Vaccines
Riding along on legislation to create a new federal Department of Homeland Security is a White House-backed provision that could head off dozens of potential lawsuits against Eli Lilly and Co. and other pharmaceutical giants. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines02/1115-01.htm

What I would like to know is why the American consumer has to pay extra for food that is healthy. All dairy should be organic and rGBH free and humanely slaughtered. All foods shouldn't have chemicals added. That should be the norm, not the exception.

I was telling my dad how we were trying to use up all the paraben products in the house and then only buy natural stuff. Dad says well that Burts Bees stuff is expensive. I said I know dad isn't it crazy how cost effective they make it for you to give yourself cancer these days:smile7:
