I've been trying to get rid of crabgrass in my lawn and haven't had any luck. I've used both pre and post emergent stuff but it's still there. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it (short of hand pulling - which I have been doing but it takes so long)?

I plan to overseed in late September hoping I can choke it out. Do you think that's enough?

Help!

Double your amount in the spring. What I mean is treat it more in the spring because your only chance is before it comes up.

We just started cutting our grass higher - that way the crabgrass seeds don't get to grow because the regular grass shades the crab grass seeds. That will work for next year - this year, just live with it and then next year, start cutting your lawn at a longer length - about four inches and the crab grass seeds will never get a chance to grow.

If you get desperate and don't have vast areas to kill use some Round up to spot spray one week before you overseed. Don't let the pets out on it until it dries good.
