KISS was offered the role of F.V.B in the movie Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. KISS turned down the role - they thought it would ruin their image - so they made the movie KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park instead. That's KISS' contribution to the 70's cheesy movies :D

I know during that time I remember listening to it . It was a big hit in august of 1971. The group turned down woodstock in the 60's..
Here is alittle info from wikipedia: I found this interesting.
Ironically, The Raiders biggest hit, "Indian Reservation" (1971 - #1 - Gold single), was recorded as a Mark Lindsay solo session and included input from no one else in the band. Revere took the unusual step of promoting the single, by riding cross country a total of four times. Plugging the song at every market available, Revere's efforts paid off, and "Indian Reservation" peaked at #1 for one week in August. "Indian Reservation" was Columbia Records biggest selling single for almost a decade, clearing over 6 million units. They followed this success, with a top 20 album (Indian Reservation) and the #24 hit "Birds of a Feather."

This was one of my favorite 70s shows! Anyone else remember it?

WOW!! LOVE this thread!!!! I was born in 1971 and I remember so many of these!! The 70's songs remind me of my dad so much!!! He used to listen to all that music - Fleetwood Mac and some of the others and burn incense.
Honestly my greatest memories are from the 70's - being a kid playing outside on warm summer nights with music going and my parents having bbq's. My life was so normal then!!! The world was a much different place then it is now.
I just wish my son could know what it was like back then without all the crap that goes on now - life was so much simpler!

Yeah back then kids actually played outside, even at night and it was safe. We used to play in all the neighborhood yards at night. Hide and seek, kick the can. No computers and not really any video games, well maybe atari but it wasn't like that's all kids sat around and did. No cell phones, life was great back then. I wish the world now was like it was in the 70's. Life was sweet. I would have my parents back too. Man those were the days.

Sit back, fire up the colortini and enjoy this clip of Tom Snyder interviewing 70's legend KISS and 80's punker Wendy O Williams.

This is a great thread...all of these 70's memories are wonderful, I do listen to the 70's channel on my Cable often. Every once in a while I hear Chick-a-boom too!!
All the shows that are mentioned here...I just love, can't get enough of it.
I had click-clacks, wacky cards, platform shoes, a shag haircut, one of my favorite Night Gallery's is Green Fingers, listened to Dr. Demento on the radio (Fish Heads, etc)
Thanks for this thread.

As I looked at these posts, I am glad that I have almost no memory of the 70's.
Of course I don't remember the 60's or most of the 80's either.
