View Full Version : 2008 Rates and BOOK NOW!!!

I wanted to take a much needed rest until the first of the year before jumping back into the next convention. As the Laws of Attraction have it, 2008 has fallen at my door and said "Take It Now"!!
As some of you know the Casino will be opened which is just down the street from where our hotel is. Thinking no doubt that the prices of things will skyrocket, I was in a bind as to what to do. I already saw that the prices for rooms had increased, etc.

I am was "given" a block of 80 rooms Friday and Saturday only, and the discounted rate for Thursday and Sunday as long as there were rooms available. The discounted rate is $105 plus tax per night. The food prices only increased a reasonable amount (knowing the restaurant business they were reasonable and generous here).
So, all I ask is that you start reserving your hotel rooms by calling the hotel directly at 717 469-1554 and tell them you will be attending the 2008 Northeast Mini Sweepstakes Convention. I do not have registration sheets printed out yet so in the interum please continue to send me the emails that you plan on attending. The pre-registration rate will be $125 per person and I will tweak it going forward if I have to after I see the entire budget. I am limiting it to 200 this year. Since 75 have already emailed me, I feel comfortable that this will be obtainable number. We reached 185 this year and 238 in 2006.
Again, I am not prepared for taking funds yet, but with another group trying to get our room and booking hotel rooms, and with the great rates they gave me, I have to put it out now. Poor, poor Rob hasn't even gotten the word yet. Hopefully he is reading the boards from work.

Just so you all know the dates that are posted in Carols posting are in fact correct. I believe that she wanted to move it from Halloween wknd. Moreover, I think she told me that there was something going on during our original intended dates. I just wanted to take a moment and clarify this so that you aren`t confused by the dates. If I can help you in anyway PM me. THANKS

To make sure you go and book your room at the Holiday Inn as soon as you can. Although, the Mini is a differant wknd this year you don`t want to wait until the last minute to book your room. Rooms went very quickly last time around, although towards the end the hotel had some cancelations, you really don`t want to hold out for that and hope to get a room etc. As far as I am aware, booking our rooms at the Holiday Inn helps offset some of the extras etc. I`m not 100% positive on that one but I am sure Mr P-Lift Rob will correct me if needed.

$105 plus tax per night isn`t a bad deal at all, you don`t have to worry about driving or being late etc....You always have the option of rooming with friends. Also if you can request a fridge, for $5 a day its nice to have. :jet:

I`ve started a coin jar already for next years mini!!
Can`t wait to see you there...,.:bdhat::kitty:

Aimee is correct in that we do get credits for "each night" that is booked through the Holiday Inn to help reduce the cost of the banquet room rental fee. Please consider booking there before deciding on another hotel or drving back and forth from home. The more rooms we get booked, the more money there is for prizes!!

This hotel has 3 huge banquet rooms all going for the same sleeping rooms which is why we are asking that you book your hotel room now!! I cannot hold any more rooms than the 80 that we have on hold until they are all taken.

Thanks and see you there!!!:cheer7:

Thanks for posting that link KB.

These mini conventions are perfect for you guys new to sweeping. Where else can you find a place to go for an entire weekend with fellow sweepers and have your questions answered face to face!! Some people are very shy about posting questions on the forums. At these sometimes the questions are answered before you even know it. Plus there's always the put the questions down on paper method. We do plan on having plenty of time for Q&A's for all skill levels of sweeping.

SO WHAT I AM SAYING...............IS.................COME..........JOIN............US. :cheer7:

I think we'd have a really, really hard time getting him back into that outfit again. I know there were a lot of flash bulbs going off last year. Maybe we can post of the other forums for some copies to put up on the Hershey site for those that want to download them. I was too busy peeing my pants laughing to get the camera out.

The excitement I felt when planning the Fabio surprise was invigorating. I had to struggle to keep the Fabio autographed pics a surprise. I worked for weeks to find the phone number of Fabio's agent. When I finally called him, he was laughing his butt off. I think he donated 10 autographed pics of Fabio.

The wig was special-ordered from New York City. The muscle outfit was purchased last minute the day of the gig.

After last year's convention, I destroyed the costume because I knew it would be a "one time only" treat to help set the mood during the weekend.

I don't mind the pictures, but Robio will not be making another appearance. :toss:

Now I would certainly enjoy being a part of other skits...so Carol, Aimee, or Stef... do you have any ideas??! Maybe a skit with more than one person?

LOL, I know Steff! Don't let the other member's replies influence your take on mine...I know you enjoyed it and I did too! It's just that I thought eventually everyone would get bored with Robio/Fabio....I guess I was wrong! :toast1:

My business isn't called ANN-tics for nothing!!! lolol You just never know what I am going to be up to.

Rabio is now back in the hands of the club that created him, and Robio is now a great memory of all of the fun we have at our weekend. Like Rob said sooner or later it would die off and the newbies would have not a clue what it's about. We have "forkie' and a "Jersey tomatoes" and couple more cute clubs with their mascots coming this year. I'm hoping those clubs picked up on that hint. The surprises and not knowing what is up our sleeves is one of the reasons you should attend each year, right? Plus you get to meet US!!!!

Rob is a great sport, but I can only torture him so much. We'll see what we come up with. It is going to be hard to top. I do take serious ideas at the convention email address.

Thanks for helping to keep the excitement of the weekend going guys!! It's a huge undertaking for me each year. I sincerely thank you for your support. Rob helping me with the website and Aimee helping me cover the forums have been a huge, huge load off my shoulders so that I can concentrate on the important stuff.

See you in October!!! (and in September, if not before!!)
