No, I didn't find one but another thread got me thinking about this. If you opened your bag of potato chips and found say Jesus or the Virgin Mary staring back at you what would you do? Would you eat the chip without hesitation or would you see dollar signs and think maybe this was the big one?

I have always found it fascinating that people pay money for things like this but to each his own right. The link below shows a grilled cheese said to bear the image of the Virgin Mary that sold on ebay for $28,000.00

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4034787.stm

This link show a pretzel said to look like the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus. It sold for $10,600.00

I'm sure there are more but you get the idea.

So I'm curious. What would you do if you found a potato chip or another food item that resembles Jesus, the Virgin Mary or even Elvis?

Edited to say I'd call the media, post it all over the internet and then hope that dang casino that bought the grilled cheese and pretzel find me. :offwall:

I'm sure that I would not see any resemblance. I have seen some people that resembled potato chips, so I guess they would sell for $1.49 on eBay, and then you'd go to jail for trying to sell a person.

I donate plasma a few times a week, and when they take the needle out they fold up a piece of gauze and then wrap some tape around my arm to hold the gauze in place. I can't wait to come home and take that gauze off and unwrap it - I hope to find Elvis, Jesus, Mary, the Pope or somebody famous like that. I'd definately auction it off and hope to get some big $$$$ for it.

Absolutely!! I have a corn-chip that looks exactly like FreakDuJour and would love to sell it, but not sure anyone would pay much for it.

p.s. I'll take 50 cents!!

Jay Leno showed off a piece of toast with clearly someone's face burned onto it. This was so real you couldn't accidentally get it this way. If Jay Leno's team can create a piece of toast with an image, I don't buy anybody else's image.

Now I have seen some pretty amazing other stuff like potatoes, chips, etc. If I had a unique piece of anything (aside from toast) I may sell it!

I'd sell it in a heartbeat! If someone's stupid enough to pay big bucks for an image, go for it.

Would I ever buy something like that? NEVER!

In a heartbeat I would post it on eBay to sell. My problem however is that I don't see some of the things other people see in those things.

I had a carrot once that resembled, well, you know. I thought of putting it in the mature section of ebay and then remembered what Miki went through with selling a pair of old shoes on there. :D

Now, I'd probably eat it.

:rofl3:

I probably wouldn't even notice and just eat it. I don't examine my chips to see who they might resemble :)

I think it is a bit wacky to pay that much for a chip (or toast, or door, or whatever) that resembles someone.

Funny as I was talking to Emilee about almost the same topic this evening. As you know Emilee spent 7 months in the hospital and I was with her all but one night (my son has a Dr's appointment and my DH could not take him that day) one of the things we would do each day was to take the frosted flakes she ordered with breakfast each day and look at each and everyone one by one and see what they looked like!
Of course Emilee would only be able to eat one or two but we laughed and joked about each of the cereal pieces... That is one good memory of that hard time
I guess now I could have listed a few on Ebay as we had a few odd balls

Loved everyone's answers. I just find it so fascinating that people actually buy things like this.

Here a link that I posted in the other thread that made me think about this. It's a video of a lady on Johnny Carson who brought in her famous potato chip collection and Johnny pretended to eat one. She just about freaked out until she realized that he had a hidden bowl and had eaten one from the bowl. It was so funny.

Enjoy
