TinyMoMo suggested this in another thread and I thought if there was enough people intrested in it that I would be happy to get it together as I've done the Secret Angel Swap.
What i was thinking is that we could compile a list of kids and their addresses and then those who signup will get a copy of the list and can send cards or gifts (opional) to the kids. Maybe it could be something educational too. For instance since I live in GA i could send all the kids a card with some fresh picked cotton and put some info in there about cotton or about GA or something, you get my drift? LOL
Who would be intrested in do this? Weather to sign up their kid or sign up just to send something.

I guess I wouldn't feel comfortable giving out a child's address out to complete strangers in this day and age...
Sad but true

No, it's a safety issue. I wouldn't even ask a stranger to send them cards for birthdays and what have you.

I would urge anyone who is interested in this to use a PO box or work address. It's horrifying at the amount of contact info people list for their children here.
Alot of schools have penpal arrangements, maybe interested parents can look into that, and find a way for their child to correspond in writing with another kid? Maybe overseas? Our class had penpals in an Australian classroom that we wrote back and forth to through the school year, and it was an amazing experience for all of the students involved. Each student was assigned to a student in the other class. The mail all went through the schools, so it was much safer than an arrangement like this one.

there has, in the past, been more then one member of the forums who was outwardly vocal enough to scare many of us parents. What if they are here lurking now under another name and want to sign their kid up? Let's just hand someone a hunting list. :nono:

Wasn't there an issue where someone was handing out a swap list to people that weren't in that particular swap? No way would that be a good idea with a bunch of kids names and addresses.
