I have noticed that this pattern has started to happen to me in the last few years and was wondering if it is the norm.

I woke up Fri. am feeling a little sick....a bit of a sore throat and felt a little heavy in the chest!
Felt tired all day. Throat would be ok and then hurt a little when I swallowed.
Sat. I was fine
Sun. I was fine
This am, I am getting that old cold feeling.....lymph nodes a little bigger and nose is stuffy.
Throat a little sore. And the deep cough has started.

So does the cold sneak in and then my immune system beats it down and then it kicks back in after immune system has done all it can??

The reason this even matters, is my son has come into town to visit (late Christmas trip) and arrived Fri. I am off work all week to be with him and his GF. I have not seen them in 6 months and have looked forward to this for 2 months. I hate this!!! :frown3:

Sounds like allergies to me. The reason you feel yukky upon waking is because your sinuses are probably draining when you are laying down. You might try taking a benadryl at night, that's what i do, it helps dry up my head so it doesn't run down my throat all night. For the daytime, try Claritin D.

Thanks for the response TxSweeper. It is possible I am starting to have allergies. I have been pretty lucky in that dept. Never really had a problem before. Could be I am starting. I remember my dad started having "hayfever" in his 50's and I am there now.

I do this all the time. Takes FOREVER for an illness just to come on. Drives me nuts.

It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and stop by the pharmacy and get a 5 pack of Claritin D (you have to buy from pharmacist, take your driver's license, they will have to log you in their system) and hopefully if it is allergies, you will feel better within a hour or so. If you do suddenly feel better, you'll know what's going on. I know when my allergies are bad because my head starts feeling "fuzzy" and I feel like I'm starting to run a fever. I can take a Claritin D and feel better right away.

Good luck. Hope you feel better.
