Birthday Swap starts Feb '07

Swapping will begin in Mar 2007. I will need time to compile the lists for both parts and send them out. People will also need time to shop and they couldn't do that if they got a buddy in Feb. All assignments will be given before the 15th of February but the exchange will not start until March!!




This will be a two-part swap. You can sign up for one of the parts or both.

The first part of the swap consists of getting 1 swap buddy and being assigned his/her birthday. You will need to spend a minimum of $10 on this person and mail the package at the latest 1 week prior to the birthdate with some sort of tracking.

The second part of the swap consists of receiving a list of the swappers' names, addresses, and birthdays every month. You will be required to send a card to each person who has a birthday in a given month. I will send a list of names and addresses with birthdays the 3rd week of the month prior to the month when due - you won't need to remember since I'll send a new list via pm every month. I just bought a package of 12 cards from Walgreens that had them for $1.99 each or 2/$3 so that would be 24 cards for just $3. I already got 24 other cards from Family Dollar at $.50 each. The Walgreens package is the better deal.

RULES:

1. You must commit to following through with your agreement to do Part 1, Part 2, or Both Parts by following the rules or else you will be removed from the swap and placed on the badlist.

2. If you do Part 1 of the swap, you must get delivery confirmation for your package and that number must be sent to me via pm. For Part 2, you will not be required to get tracking but if most of the people claim they haven't received a card from you then you will be removed from the swap and badlisted.

3. You must identify yourself by your OLS name when you send the package and/or cards.

4. You must be willing to send and receive personal messages (pms).

5. You must post in a timely fashion that you received your package and cards. Failure to post will result in your being badlisted.

6. The sign up begins with this post and ends January 31, 2007. Please state your birthdate in the post. You do not need to give the year unless you want to give it out; month and day are fine. When you sign up, please indicate if you want to be part of Part 1, Part 2, or Both. Once you sign up, please send a pm to me with your real name and address. Also, when you sign up, include a list of your likes and dislikes. Remember, this is a birthday swap so it should be all about you and not about family, friends or pets.

7. This swap is open to members in good standing who have been part of OLS for at least one year or have at least 500 posts. It is open to those living in the US, Canada and those with military APO boxes. You must be willing to send to people living in Canada if you live in the US and get a buddy with a Canadian address. You must be willing to send to an American address if you get a buddy in the US and you live in Canada. The same is true for military members.

Hmmmmmmm.....

My hobby (besides sweeping) is native gardening. So I love seeds, birdhouses, sturdy gardening gloves (I have tiny hands) gardening tools, outdoor pots, pretty things to hang or put out in the gardens etc. I also have an ornamental fish pond.

I love bubble bath and shower gels (LOVE Calgon, BBW, Avon and Crabtree and Evelyn) Floral scents, tropical scents...but no sweet scents. I like freesia, wisteria, ocean, garden, sweet pea, tropical ginger etc)

I love body lotions, but not the scented ones (unless it's BBW) I like the Vaseline Intensive care (like they gave away in the sweeps) Nivea etc. Anything for very dry skin and/or aging skin.

I like hair stuff....my hair has finally grown back out!

I can always use Venus razor refills!!

I cannot predict how many cards there will be every month. I had over 100 people sign up for the year long swap so if 100 people sign up for this one it would mean 100 cards over the period of one year. It will cost more in the long run to do the card swap than the buddy swap.
