Last year i entered this, well i entered it the last 2 years the first year alot of people did not do there part but last year was great, i am pretty sure only one persons card did not make it, i want to say i got about 54 cards, something along those lines, and of all the cards not one was the same card, all diffrent cards, if it was not for the card swap i would have gotten no more than 10 cards, one from my sister and the rest fro coworker and a few friends.

this was one card from florida that sent snow in there cards, a few had stickers in them. it seems like so many people dont send cards or they want to email you or call you. atleat with a card you can keep it forever, a matter of fact i got all the card i got last year put up.

i will email you my info, and thank you doing this again this year.

I agree. I did the 1st card swap in 2004 and only a few cards went missing ... I could only imagine what pains the U.S. postal staff must endure to get all those cards and letters to folks (particularly the handwritten ones).

You can request the list anytime but remember its not finale untill nov 25 so people can always change their minds and Drop. Also you need to keep track of who you do because I change the list order every 10th time I send it so no-one is left on the bottom. ( do to people on the bottom in past years not getting cards)

Also I send a reply within 24hrs of getting your info. If you sent info and did not get a "Thank you" reply please resend info.

Have we thought of typing the list in a way that it would print on some standard sized Avery label? Then each of us can buy that type of label and...voila! The envelopes which will be discarded anyway are done and we can focus our hanwriting time on the messages of peace and cheer that we write in the cards. I know some traditionalists think that the envelopes should be handwritten, but I'm all for reducing stress at Christmas. Would anybody be interested in the idea of converting the list to label format?

Last year I just copied and pasted the whole list into Word and printed directly onto the envelopes, personalizing it with their screen name and a Christmas picture - no need for labels. I'll probably do the same this year so having a label format would not make much difference for me. It's a good idea for those who are using labels though :gvibes:

No tangee dearest.. you did nothing wrong at all... you just made a suggestion .. as many others have done... so do not feel bad...

I had thought that with the move that I would have to build a data base and import that into Word to just print my envies ... very easy actually ... but since I do love to put my personal touch on each card, I'm just gonna hand write them all. saralee, I PM'd you again since I didn't receive a response to my e-mail... We are moving from here on the 10th but I will definitely have a new address for you by the 25th. I also want the whole list ... With my DH leaving for Korea on the 10th, I know that once the house is in order, it will be pretty boring for a while without him until me and the girls get assimilated.

I look forward to all those pretty cards ... it will make our Christmas a little brighter.

oh no your not wrong :hugs: Its just I can't do it. If you wanted to take the time and do it and offer the list that way to others please do so :gvibes: I just have so much to do and now with winning the trip for Dec I have even more to do. I don't mind so much do the card swap list because I'm always on my computer but I just don't have the extra time to do it any other way. I have or it feels like a million things to do now before christmas and now a trip to plan too with in a month. Please don't feel upset.

I've been buying a book of stamps (20) every other week...(pay day! LOL) this way it doesn't take such a big crunch out of my budget. I'm am so psyched for this swap. I came up with the neatest idea to put in each of everyone's card! I can't wait till everyone gets theirs! Fingers Crossed! :gift:

I want to thank everyone who has made suggestions and offers to help. This is what I love about OLS - that people are so willing to help someone out.

While the cost will be higher than I anticipated, I am going to go ahead and send the cards from here. One of the main reasons I decided to join this swap was that I thought it would be fun for everyone to get a card from Canada. So, again, thanks for the offers of help.

We just wanted to know if we are in the ballpark (progress wise!!) lolol...... Plus we are gathering postage each week as we are going along..... that way when we get the list - we figure a couple of days to get them signed sealed and ready for delivery!!!!
