Welcome to the single Christmas Ornament exchange!!
Sign up to receive a new ornament for the holiday season.


The rules:
~You may not be on the OLS bad list.
~I’m keeping this as open as possible. As long as you’ve been a member since 9/1/06 you may participate.
~There are no post minimum requirements.
~Opened to both premium and non-premium members.

What you must do:
~Agree to send your swap buddy your address.
~Agree to purchase and mail one holiday ornament to your assigned OLS swap buddy. The ornament should have a value of at least $5 not including shipping.
~Agree to mail your ornament by December 1, 2006.
~Package tracking is optional since this is a low value swap. However, if your package does not arrive and there is no tracking information to prove that it was sent, you will be placed on the bad list.
~Agree to post in the forum when you receive your ornament. Tell us what you got!!

To participate:
~Reply post in this thread. You can include In your post include a little about what types of ornaments you like. Do you decorate with certain themes or colors? Your swap buddy will use this only as a guide to find something special for you.
~Sign up will end on November 3rd.
~Randomizer will decide the swap buddies.
~You must PM your swap buddy with your mailing address, preferably within 48 hours of the posted buddy list.
~If you decide not to participate or your situation changes and you are unable to participate, please edit your post and PM me as well so that I know. This can be done anytime before November 2nd.

Answers to questions:
1)There are two ornament swap threads. This is to swap a single ornament. There will be another thread to swap multiple ornaments. Feel free to join in either or both exchanges!

2) As of right now you will know who your swap buddy is. I did this to make it easier to exchange addresses.

3) Will I send an ornament to the same person that is sending to me?
Randomizer will pick and there may be a case or two where you will have the same person that is sending to you. Most likely, you won't.

4) Are handmade ornaments accepted? Yes they are. If the materials and time put into the ornaments fall within the minimum price guidelines...you are set. I am going to let the maker/giver decide the value of the ornaments.

I collect Hallmark ornaments. It makes me sick to think what I lost to ^%%# mold! I had tons of them-got them when they mark them down each year.
I love bear, squirrels and mice for ornaments.

This will be alot of fun!

Oh, this sounds like so much fun! Count me in, please. I collect all kinds of ornaments. I like to try to find one from places I've been and places I'd like to go (anywhere)! I especially love folk art. I would like to have one from all 50 states at some point. I also like Winnie the Pooh, Marjolie Bastin (Natures's Sketchbook) which sells at Hallmark and anything Mickey Mouse. I really like homemade ones, too! I'll love anything, I'm not hard to please.

This is a wonderful idea!! Count me in. My husband is an airline pilot, so I have spent years grabbing up any airplane ornament I could find. We have all of the HAllmark planes. My mother-in-law who passed away years ago, once gave me a beautiful wooden plane with a man and woman dressed in old fashioned clothes seated inside. I believe she found it in MAine. My rott puppy chose this as one of the few things she ever destroyed :frown3:

I have a Huge Tree every year .500 white lights , My ornaments are large and all sorts and kinds, I even have differnt shaped mirrors about the size of a plum, mixed through the tree to cast the lights and add more sparkle and twinkle .My Buddy can totaly surprise me and I know I'll love it .

I'm not hard to please at all. Our tree is always an electric one of ornaments. We never put up a real tree. Just can't wait that long, the tree goes up the day after thanksgiving.

Oh, that's right, I need to state preference -- I found a metallic red 8-pointed star last year I loved -- I'm a real lover of things that reflect light, so any ornament that shines back when light hits it, I like. I love both red, purple or green colors most -- red best of all -- though red and gold is beautiful, too.

Just ideas, I will be happy with whatever my buddy picks.

We have a tendancy to stay away from really heavy ornaments as they don't like to stay on the tree.

Oh, count me in!! My ex took all of my christmas decor when we split and basically just refused to ever give it to me. It included all the ornaments I had when I was a child plus all of my childrens ornaments, even our handmade stockings from my grandmother. I am upset every christmas over this...ANYWAY...

because of that, I am slowly rebuilding my collection every year. I like pretty ornaments, glass, glittery, don't care for the round ball ornaments. I have gotten alot at Cracker Barrel because they have some really pretty and unique (and economical!) ones there. I'm not picky! Suprise me! :gvibes: I do have a 7 yr. old girl and a 10 year old boy and four cats, if that helps at all!

Years ago I used to have a Christmas party with my friends and I would ask everyone to bring a covered dish, a can of food for the Knights of Columbus food drive and an ornament - it was a great way to get new ones!

Our Christmas Tree is decorated with a wide variety of ornaments. Some homemade... some store-bought... all have a story to tell. I love coutry-esqe type ornaments... homemade... not too much glass since the girls are still young and they do the decorating that they can reach ... plus we have cats... (that reminds me that I need a new squirt bottle.. lol)...

All I ask is that swap buddy tag or write somewhere on the ornament that it is from them with the year on it. I can do that myself but having you, swap buddy, do it means more to me.

I got a lovely bear dressed in pink clothes and hat, holding a heart shaped frame to put a picture in. My DD(4) claimed it already and wants a pic of Dora in it :rolleyes:

A gold metal snowflake with green gems,it's hard to explain what it looks like but it is beautiful! And green is my favorite color!

Both were good size ornaments which is great since my tree is always big.


She also included some free food coupons, free food is always grand!

Kelpy14 is correct. I am rethinking this for next year. The amounts set for both swaps have been difficult to meet but I didn't realize this until I started shopping. At the end of the swap I'm going to start a new thread for suggestions to make next years better. Then I will save it to use next October.

My ornament are those glass block snowmen - three heads a dad, mom and little baby snowman heads. It is then personalized with "Sheik Family 2006". This ornament will be strategically placed on our tree so everyone sees it and we will be thinking of you every year when we put it on the tree.

Kaden was born right before Christmas last year and spent Christmas day in the NICU. I didn't even get to hold him for the first time until after Christmas. So this year is our first "happy" Christmas together as a family so for you to incorporate all of us in the ornament was truly special.

My ornament are those glass block snowmen - three heads a dad, mom and little baby snowman heads. It is then personalized with "Sheik Family 2006". This ornament will be strategically placed on our tree so everyone sees it and we will be thinking of you every year when we put it on the tree.

Kaden was born right before Christmas last year and spent Christmas day in the NICU. I didn't even get to hold him for the first time until after Christmas. So this year is our first "happy" Christmas together as a family so for you to incorporate all of us in the ornament was truly special.

It was perfect!!!! Thank you!!!!!

Thank you Tholix!! I received a great package today. I got a set of Sesame Street mini oraments: Grover, Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar and Cookie Monster. I also received a very cool snowflake ornament. It has a snowman molded into it. There is a hole on the back that makes it glow when put over a tree light. I've never had an ornament that glows and think this is the coolest thing!! We also really love the Sesame Street ornaments. Drake had so much fun putting them on the tree! Thank you!

I recieved a beautiful purple and gold glass ball with With a butterflies. Glittery outlined and embelished with little gem like stones.. My 6yr old claimed it right away

And to my surprize and delight another ornament.. a pretty blue and white one trees carved out of the sides to let the lights shine threw.. i cant wait to put these on my tree . (when we get the tree.)

I know just the photo to put in it too! :cheer7: The second ornament is of three silver reindeer wearing scarves. Also very spectacular. I just got my package and what a wonderful day to get it since we are snowed in today...but the mailman made it through! A huge thank you to klucidk. I didn't get one ornament, not two ornaments, but WOW three ornaments. I loved them all.

1. A white felt stuffed dove with a piece of holly in its beak.
2. A pine cone bird house with a cute cardinal.
3. A snowman (country colors) with a bell in his body.

These are perfect for our Christmas tree. Thanks again klucidk you did a wonderful job. You can be my swap buddy anyday!
