anyone have Winmx?

I can't seem to download anything anymore. I'm not sure if I fiddled with my settings and messed them up or what. People are downloading from me, but nothing ever downloads for me anymore. :confused:

Vicky, try Kazaa. It seems to be much easier to get stuff. I actually use a version called KazaaLite (http://www.kazaalite.com) , which someone took all of the spyware and ads out of.

I haven't used it much since I started using KaZaA Lite, but if you get newsgroups you can check out alt.music.mp3.winmx. Here are some forums you can check out also. http://www.winmxcommunity.com/forums/index.php

I like winmx. Haven't downloaded anything in a while though. I will try tonight and let you know if I have any trouble.

Vicky, PM me later if your still having problems my husband downloads and uploads tons of stuff daily for folks. He will be able to figure it out for sure.

I just chatted with him and he told me to ask you 1) are you behind a Firewall ( that messed up my connection) or is your computer hooked up to a router ( not sure what thats about)
or 2) Look to see if you have a primary or secondary connection on WinMx. He promised to get this figured our for ya when he gets home..:)

Thanks Mike. I decided to get Kaaza-lite since you told me they have no ads. I don't know why I was having all the trouble with winmx because my son uses it and gets music all the time. I went to the winmx forums as suggested to try one last time to save winmx on my computer and found alot of people were having trouble with it, so I switched. I really like winmx because it was adfree but it just stopped working. KL seems great. Thanks everyone! I finally have music again! http://www.kurts-smilies.de/kopfhoerer.gif

I believe that WinMX and Kazaa use the same servers to connect users. You should see the same things available to download from both services. I just think that Kazaa is "cleaner" and easier to use.

My husband has Kazaa now. If we get Kazaa Lite and get rid of Kazaa will that get rid of the spyware? I know nothing about how that kind of stuff works so please bear with me.:confused:
