I got an email today that just about made me sick!!! It is so disgusting I don't want to talk about it... it was pictures of actual rapes.... and the email made it sound like it was of rapes of children. They actually said that they were trying to hide their site from the government... so I want to make sure that they see this one!

Where do I forward this email? What government email box do I send this one to? Anyone have that addy??

:mad2: Sick people! Thank you for for taking the time to do something about it instead of just deleting it. We all have to do our part to stop this kind of trash, esp when it involves children!

 I have forwarded some of these to the government address too. They make me sick. I have two children and it makes me so angry when I see this type of mail. I don't remember the exact address so maybe someone from here can find it for you. It was something like www.psi.gov?.

Katie, How absolutely horrifying! I cannot believe that there are so many really sick people out there. Sorry I cannot help with any referrals, but I really hope you are successful.

I found a site that I can at least make a complaint about this email and they will send the info to my state's AG. Imagine my dismay when I visted the AG's site itself and didn't find any like to report this kind of thing... but rather found a form to download and mail in!!

If anybody needs this address - here it is --

I'm glad you are taking action to report it. We need everyone to do their part and to be responsible citizens.

When you forward this email to any authorities you need to select "turn headers on" or "show all headers" or similar. This will show where the email really came from if they have made attempts to disguise their identity. Unfortunately a lot of spammers forge their identities but thie will foil most attempts.

You'll know it worked when you see a bunch of technical mumbo-jumbo at the beginning of the email.

Unbelievable. This former prosecutor is disgusted. I would send it at the same time to: the FBI, the US Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, and both the District Attorney and police department for your jurisdiction (e.g. Middlesex or Sussex County). Let them sort out who has responsibility - breaking internet laws is generally federal, but rapes are typically state crimes. I'm just so appalled, I can't even tell you. Thank you for being a responsible citizen and doing something about it!

You know keeks, I would have if I could have found any email addresses for any of those offices online anywhere. I was appalled that there was no "clearing house" that I could find for this type of stuff. I searched the FBI site... nothing. I searched the Justice Department site... nothing...I even searched the local AG's site and still nothing!!

I am amazed that there is not one single place to send complaints about things like this that at the very least sound like the are ripe with crimminal activity... It saddens me.

Being there in DC, if you have any addys that I can send this to that will actually get someone looking at it I would be very grateful.

Hello - just alert the local authorities, and your local branch of the FBI (they're in the phone book).

Go get 'em!

Generally, these types of things should be reported to local police and/or FBI but they are not usually as responsive as attorneys' offices, so here are a couple addresses for you.

I found this buried in the Mass AG's website; it's a "contact us" address: webmaster@ago.state.ma.us.

Here's a link to local DA's offices in Massachusetts. I don't know what county you're in, but hopefully it's listed and can be a starting point for you: http://www.co.eaton.mi.us/ecpa/PA-NEast.htm#MA.

I agree with an earlier post too - submit it as a tip to the FBI. I'm not sure that that is the right channel, but once it's in their system, they should be able to divert it appropriately.

Also, if you can do it, go to your local police station and ask to speak with a detective in the sex crimes unit or - if they have one - internet/technology crimes unit. Here in DC, there is such a thing (and I had an ebay fraud case once - so be careful out there!).

Here's a link to a non-governmental public interest group, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that specifically wants reports on sick stuff out there on the internet targeting children:
http://www.missingkids.com/cybertip/

This is the link to report child porn on the internet: https://web.cybertip.org/cyberTipII.html. The Center will forward it to the correct law enforcement officials.

Hope that this works out and is STOPPED!
