View Full Version : Can I just come and scream for joy? I'm pregnant after 8 years!!!

I haven't been entering sweeps for the past few weeks because I've been sleeeeeeping so much!

I came home from a trip to California a few weeks ago and found a note from my OB reminding me that I was due for my annual. I put it off for a few days, then called them. Then I started counting on my fingers and realized that I thought I was a few days late....but I really hadn't been keeping track of my cycles lately so I wasn't sure.

So the night before my exam my incredible soulmate kept asking me what was wrong, and finally I just said "I think I'm late..." he shrugged, smiled and said "no worries." At my exam, the nurse asked when my last period was and I felt like a dolt for not being able to tell her...she said "let's do an ultrasound because cysts can cause it to come late..." then she got realllly quiet, smiled and said "I'm seeing...that you're pregnant." We've seen a hearbeat a couple of times and I'm somewhere along 9-10 weeks today.

OMG! :cheer7:

I know this is a normal thing for millions of people, but the punchline to this is that I started trying in 1995 with my now ex-husband. I charted, we saw countless doctors - allopathic and naturopathic, we had all the tests under the sun, had an HSG, laparoscopy, medicated IUIs, unmedicated IUIs, you name it...we were labeled "unexplained infertility." Now I know it was "someone looking out for me" because it would have been really tough had I had a child with him. So we split two years ago after nine years of marriage, and I met my DBF 6 months later. We just never thought it could happen because I'd never been pregnant, plus I'm an antiquarian at 38.

So, this is incredible. We're over the moon and I just had to shout out! :supstar: :jump:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! What an awesome story. Wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy! I am also pregnant with my very first baby. My husband and I started trying in February and got pregnant in February. I always tell people that I think that my husband just looked at me and I got pregnant. It's very exciting! Good luck!

Congrats! You give me hope. My DH and I have been trying for four years. We have been labled with unexplained secondary IF. We haven't gone through treatments, other than some fertility drugs, because of insurance issues.

wow, good for you, maybe it took you a while because you were trying to much, i knew this lady who tried and tried she had to pencil her husband in for love sessions, so they decieded to adopt, after she got her baby she started to feel run down, like most new mothers feel, well she went to the doctor and found out she was pregant, the doctor told her she was trying to hard, just let it be natural not like a job. she ended up having three babies the one she adopted plus two more,
