My 13 yr old stepdaughter was in danger of failing the 7th grade. She has a carload of problems, but thankfully our school system has programs for tutoring, social interaction, etc and we were able to get her in those activities.
She was very upset when she realized how serious her situation was, so she got busy and WORKED HER TAIL OFF - raised her grades from D's and F's up to all B's - with the exception of girls choir - where she got an A and also was chosen to perform with a select group at a regional music festival.
She brought home an award on her last day of school - MOST IMPROVED STUDENT in Language Arts. :cheer7: We are so proud of her!!!! She's off to the 8th grade next year and no summer school - woohoo!

Her overachiever brother got a Presidential Award for his good grades. He says it's signed by the President, but his big sis says NO WAY - that his signature is stamped on the certificate.
AND - he is STUDENT OF THE YEAR for the entire 6th grade!
Yippee for our little darlings and huge Congratulations to everyone whose kids have reached new heights this past school year. :jump:
