I need a good ham and bean soup recipe with a thick and creamy "broth". I have a left over ham from Easter and I can't find a good recipe. I don't care what kind of beans and a mixture of them is a plus.

Have you thought about split pea soup? I make it in the crock pot, and the texture is very creamy when it's done. Let me know if you'd like a recipe.

It's easy to do variations on that recipe with whatever ingredients you have in the house.

I take part of the soup out and whir it in the blender, it makes the stock thick and creamy. I hate the stuff, but I always make it for husband when I cook a ham :gvibes:

Another favorite ham leftover use is making a Ham *Cheddar * Broccoli Calzone
