We were planning on waiting until 6 months to start cereal but she has really been showing some signs that she's eager to eat- everytime she sees us eat she does the grabby thing and she watches the food as we eat it. We thought okay, lets go fo it. Yesterday I mixed about 1 tablespoon of food with 2 ounces of my milk and it was really runny. I didn't want to make it thick because she's never had anything but milk so I was afraid I'd make it too thick for her and she'd gag. At first she was like what the heck? But we could tell from the first bite that she was liking it. She never screamed or cried at all, in fact she was all smiles. She kept lunging for the spoon. When we started she kept sucking it off the side of the spoon but after a while she started putting it in her mouth more. Towards the end she started grabbing my hand while I was feeding her spoonfuls. That was real cute. Then when we finished she grabbed my finger and pulled it into her mouth then started sucking on her fingers.

I think it went really well and she seemed to love it. We nursed a little after that and we had to bathe her because it soaked through the bib.

This is my new favourite show! The Samantha eats cereal show! Man, is she a dolly! What an angel. She seems to really like the cereal! I have that exact same Bumbo. Love it.

She is absolutely adorable! Man she loved that food. My daughter gave me such a hard time when I first tried to give her solids. That makes me want to have a baby again.

euphmansgurl- we love her Bumbo! It was about $45 after shipping on Ebay but now they have them at Target fo $40. I think it's totally worth every penny and I think Samantha would agree. It's really sturdy and we sometimes put it on the living room table so she can be up higher and sitting up. When we first got it her head wasn't strong enough yet but she loved sitting in it until he head started bobbing like a bobblehead and we'd take her out. Now she can sit in it for a long time. Sometimes we'll pop her on a chair next to the computer chair and she'll sit here and watch us type.

If we needed to, I'd buy another one in an instant (like if this one was stolen). I really liked the Lilac one but we got green so we can save it for our next baby in case we have a boy.

What a cutie. I can't wait for another month till Bruno can have some real food. He is getting impatient lol and loves to stare at us when we eat> He also loooooves his Bumbo. Those are a great invention!

Samatha sure seems ready for a little food with that milk. You can see she has been eating well up to now though. :) The only downside of "real food" is your laundry is going to increase even more!
