Actually, I put cold water in when I am scrambling them. I think it was on Alton Brown that water is closer to the molecular structure than milk. :cool2:
I also put either ketchup or picante sauce on my eggs.

I put a spoon full of sour cream in mine. It makes it so fluffy and taste so good. When you mix it up it sort of looks weird but it works .

February 10th, 2006, 10:39am
Nope. I mince red, ripe tomatoes and saute them then add my scrambled eggs. The water content in a tomato is so high that it makes it taste so yummy I don't have anything else like ketchup. Plus, I got my veggie in there.

February 10th, 2006, 11:07am
You all need CHICKENS!!
Fresh eggs are moist and fluffy when scrambled and even when you make egg salad with them.
No need for milk or water.
This is exactly what I've been talking about for years now.
:soapbox:
Sheesh! :nono:

no, i don't - but I don't think it's gross either. when i make french toast batter - it put milk in with the other ingredents, including the eggs - so how is that any different? if you've eaten breakfast at a restaurant and ordered scrammbled eggs, chances are you had eggs with milk in them. no harm done

I have to agree with duknuk, fresh eggs are the best. I buy from a lady I work with. They are much better than store bought.

No milk. I never liked them with milk. However, every so often I do use heavy cream ala Jacques Pepin and Julia Child. Go figure.

No. But I do not mind eating eggs that people put milk or cream in, I just do not cook mine that way.
Probably because I make mine sunny side up....and my kids like them that way too.
but if someone wanted scrambled I would not get out the milk unless they asked me to make them that way for them for some reason.

I do it only because my Mom always did. I thought it was "required" for scrambled eggs. One time I ran out of milk and tried it with a TBSP of water and they turned out exactly the same! I felt duped, LOL. However, I still put milk in them...don't know why, is just what I was taught. What does the milk do? I've often wondered that and my Mom has no idea...was what SHE was taught. :)

When I scramble I only use egg whites and yup, I add a little bit of milk. Thats the way my mom does it, so thats the way I learned to make it. I also add diced onion and pepper and some ketchup. I'll sometimes throw a little cheese on top, too.
