Yep! Amazing! I think I'll wait for more proof since they are so secretive.

I think if this is true, I am truly disgusted! With all the children up for adoption and unwanted babies in this world, I cannot for the life of me believe that someone would do this.
Happy New Year,

I think it's a very bad sign of things to come and a downward spiral for humanity.

I can wait to get my baby choice catalogue in the mail. I think ill order one that doesnt poop or cry.
Can you see where this is leading? I understand hurting when you lose a child and can even understand the narsacissim that would lead one to clone themselves but this will lead to no good. "Designer" babies and government drones:eek:

Well, to me "the deal" with cloning is not the actual replication of humans...none of whom are too perfect to begin with. The benefits are in the genetic research itself...the ability to cure diseases, or offset one's predisposition to cancer, for example.
I guess that there *will* be a successful human cloning in the future, but like most of the comics who weighed in on the subject so far...this group seems pretty unlikely to be the first. Not to heckle (what the heck...yes I will)...but that CEO and "Raelian bishop" just doesn't look the part, with her freaky hair and narfed up collagen lips.
Besides, there's this picture of a Raelian event I found on the web...

Cloning is so wrong. It is my personal believe that God gives you a child that is right for you. If it is my destiny to have a baby with, for example, Down's Syndrome, then that Is what I will be happy with. One is never given something they cant handle. I will be a heck of a lot of work, but you do what you have to do.
This human cloning thing is allowing parents to create a child, that is perfect in their minds. What they dont realize is that society plays a big role in what our personalities are. I personally dont think there could ever be a "true" clone of a person.
I feel the same way about parent who choose to have only sperm with male or female sex extracted for the purpose of guaranteeing a male or female child. The only way that I could accept this, is if one parent is a carrier of a fatal or debilitating disease that can only be passed on to only a male or only a female child.
In other words, cloning is way too creepy for me. :(

I think it ranks right up there with the nuclear bomb.:nay:
an aside: Cloning people bad, stem cell research possibly good.

If they could take my dead brother's DNA and clone me another one of him, believe you me-I'd welcome him with open arms. As for using cloning just to get "perfect" babies-that I don't dig.
If they can use it to cure cancer, aids, MS, MD, etc. and prolong lives-then heck yeah.

A clone again...naturally....
Clonan O' Brien...weeknights on NBC...

Boy have I been waiting to sound off on this one....
gcomstock cracks me up with his rather accurate assessment of that lady's lips "narfed" is my new word for the week , thanks!
As for the cloning I am praying that its a hoax......any messing with nature is bound to bring some hazardous and tragic situations....
If it is true this child would be treated so differently for something that is no fault of her own.....but the fault of people playing God with others lives just for some scientific recognition. And I am sorry for the child to be her mothers twin just sounds sick...
Thats just my opinion..

I don't go for the cloning. In one way I can see that it could be a plus for people needing bone marrow and the like, but I just don't see that this is how it was intended to be. Just my opinion.

Wow. They seem quite different. Can you imagine a world of these cloned people?
If they do clone humans, it would be quite interesting to do a long-term study of their psychological profiles--- such as if these people end up in prison then the non-cloned human?
From a religious standpoint, I think it is pretty freaky.

It might give a clear answer to the nature/nurture contoversy, you think?
Narfed up.... good description George! LOL
And I can see new cryogenic warehouses opening up to freeze tissue samples of dead loved ones to replicate them for heart broken families, or give second chances to those "genetic constructs" that the original never had....
Interesting idea about those that went down the wrong path being given a genetic second chance.... still hung up on the nature nurture aspect I guess.
hummmm.... at least it makes you think!

Yes, I believe they have cloned a human, BUT, this does not surprise me, because the BIBLE says that we're in the LAST DAYS, and man will try to become like GOD, just like satan tries to be like GOD, and this clone will not have a soul that comes from GOD, because GOD did not create this clone, man did, which means that we could have clones like Hitler, etc...and then it will be too late, because man decided to take the world into his own hands, instead of depending on GOD.
2 Timothy Chapter 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come
3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
3:13 But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Daniel 12:4
"But you, Daniel, sut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

I just read through this Raelian philosophy for the heck of it until I got to this part...
"There is no soul, but there is a marvelous genetic program.
The first humans, our ancestors, were created scientifically by voluntary genetic manipulations, desired by humans from another planet. Our essence is by no means divine.
There is no soul in us. There is a biological program, comparable to computer instructions, which make us human and capable to enact rules of society. Contraception and abortion are choices which we can conceive without guilt and which we can regulate as many countries have already done. Do we not want to see individuals who are radiant thanks to the love which was given to them at their conception?"
RAEL
AND even worse:
SOCIAL VALUES: VALUES OF RESPECT
Self-Respect
" Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and coffee are forbidden. All these substances destroy our genetic code, weaken our immune system allowing diseases to infect us, and worse yet, they create defects for the future generations to come ". RAEL
And THEN I said, "This is totally crap." If I don't have a soul and my kids don't have a soul-then we must be robots. How stupid is that? And who created these humans from another planet? Even more humans from yet another planet? I didn't even know they had crack smokers in France...NO coffee? What is this guy thinkin'???
But as for taking DNA to save lives...that's a different issue all together.
