Is it just me or, is anyone else here a complete Catalog Junkie?

Hello, My name is Courtney and I am a catalog Junkie(The crowd says Hello Courtney)
I may not order from any of them, but, I absolutely read almost everyone of them cover to cover!! I don't know if it's because I'm a(the reason I don't order)Is a dreamer or too frugal. I can pick out 30 things from each catalog I would buy when I win the PCH $10 million, but, otherwise, I guess I love to dream!@@!!

Surely, I'm not the only one!!!
I maybe breaking some law here, but, here is a great site for free catalogs

PLEASE!! No more catelogs. You have no idea how many I get just from entering sweeps; sometimes double and triple!! Once in a blue moon I might look at one that interests me, but the rest go "file 13"!!

sorry wacky, but, of course, you don't have to click on the link :smile9: The only catalogs I get (from sweeps) are about 1500 Florida resorts. (Those are the ones in the catagory of "almost" read all of them.

Oh God!! Those books and brochures from entering sweeps on travel sites are even worse. Your right about the Florida ones. I must get more mailings for Florida, especially Orlando, than any place else. I think we're the recycling center's best customers. :uhoh:

I bought a house and when I moved in I received tons of catalogs for weeks and months. I called each company who sent one and got the address removed from their list. I also filed with the credit bureaus to opt out and the volume of junk mail has significantly reduced. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to have Globe Life Insurance stop sending me their weekly junk mailer. I have been asking to be removed for nearly a year. I absoutely despise that company and have no respect for it. I have been getting more junk mail since entering sweeps, but I call and opt out as appropriate. If I want to buy it, I will find it online. No need to send junk mail to my house, or you may get some back in the prepaid envelope that you sent with the junk. :toot:

we used to have a newspaper rack where we placed all the "junk" what came in one week (weekly circulars, catalogues, advertisements, magazines). On the weekend we we had time to go all through this stuff and put them to their determed destination - what ususally meant trash can.

But unfortunately it's gotten so bad - we got so many catalogues, travel brochures, junk mail (chase credit card company is really chasing us) that I had to replace the newspaper rack with a bigger wicker basket.

It really seems that everybody sends me their stuff - even if I usually opt out when it comes to receiving further information, but apparently nobody cares.

OK, it's free of charge but on the other hand how many trees must die in order to send people this crap :mad2:

I think that people should lobby their Senators and House members to force the USPS to raise mailing rates for junk mail so that First Class rates do not raise as often. This action should also reduce the junk mail and catalogs. Green Peace may then be happier. :sherlock:

I feel so sorry for our mailman since I started sweeping (UNLESS he brings me a win). But boy, has my mailbox filled up with "junk" stuff like catalogs. I even started getting them for adult toys, etc. DH wondered about that one!

I too am a catalog junkie. I have a cabinet that contains around 400 catalogs and a basket next to my bed. I have to go through them every other month because some companies send them often. I actually have several uses for my catalogs. We use old copies for crafts. We recycle them too. I write fictional stories and select clothes, furniture and decor that my characters would have and I can visualize their life and stories come to life.

Some of my favorite catalogs are; Land of Nod, Levenger, What on Earth, Boston Proper, Tiffanys and Sundance. I would love to hear what your favorites are. :gvibes:

Hahahaa! You catalog junkie you!

Ok, I'll admit it, yes I also love them! (Thanks for the link!) I love to sit and browse through them while I drink my morning coffee. I rarely ever order, just wish, broswe and wish some more.

Shhhhhh.... :shhh: this next info is probably TMI.... my husband complains about the catalogs, but I constantly find them next to the toilet. :read:

Hi all, I am not really a catalogue junkie, but my three year old is!

He LOVES catalogues! When we get a toy catalogue in the mail (The Fao Schwartz one is like, GOLD at my house) he spends hours looking at it. He is crazy about them. He always asks "Mom, did I get mail?" I love them because it keep him entertained long enough for me to get something done!

My husband subscribes to GQ, Esquire, Details and Wallpaper.. for some reason, he is now on the Playboy mailing list. When the Playboy catalogue comes I always tease him.. "Honey! Your porno catalogue came!"

I order from Hannah Andersson and Babystyle so I get those a lot. We get the Bergdorfs one and the Neimans ones.. I get the Chanel ones and the packaging is AMAZING. Once I got some that were in this super cool vinyl case.. they were selling on eBay for upwards of $100 each! Just for a catalogue! Crazy!
