I will give you the short form of the story.

About 5 1/2 years ago, we hired a CONtractor, he took us for $17k. We hired a lawyer, paid him over $15k to get our money back. After 5 years of court, an arbitrator gave us a settlement and the right to collect from him or his business because he couldn't prove he didn't use our money for personal use.

Now, how can we go about collecting money from this low-life? I heard there was a way we could put some kind of hold on his bank account so his money would go to us. I also have some pages on how to garnish wages. Any insight would be very helpful.

Thank you!

I would talk with your lawyer about filing a lien against his property and/or against his business.

Since you have the judgment in hand, you go to the court, and have his wages/accounts garnished. Here in Ohio it costs 7 bucks to do that. Some states, it is free.
You don't need a lawyer for that.
