Two good sites I found today which will hopefully help me combat spam (which irritates me to no end). All you need to do is view the complete headers of any spam you receive and trace the IP addys. Take for instance, the lovely HOT LATIN SL*TS email I received earlier today, which would LOOK like it was received from some generic yahoo email address, but headers reveal an IP addy of 216.101.185.35.

Go to the Opus One page, enter the IP address, mess around with the settings if you wish (personally, I've like the "Round up the usual suspects" option so it's easier to tell who's responsible for this crap), then hit "trace that puppy". You'll see that it really never had anything to do with yahoo at all, but instead passed through Time Warner Telecom, sbcglobal.net (a Prodigy domain), and Pacific Bell.

Now, instead of getting responses to my spam complaint e-mails that say

"We have determined that this email message did not actually originate from our mail system. It appears that the sender of this message forged the header information"

I'm getting

"Thank you for writing to us. We have investigated the email that you've brought to our attention and responded appropriately under the our Terms of Service. "

Hopefully, if enough of us do this we can really make a difference!
