Does anyone know where I can get a free download of Microsoft publisher. My dd came home from school and she has a project she has to do and the teacher told her it had to be done using Microsoft Publisher. We don't have Microsoft Publisher on your computer and I have called several friends and they don't have it either. The teacher says if they don't do it using Microsoft Publisher the grade will start out at 65 and then she takes points from there'.
Thanks

That sounds so unfair to grade children based on tools that they don't own.
You could do a search for this online or go to www.microsoft.com to see if they have any free downloads.

It does not seem fair to require that kids spend about $80 for a program. If a teacher says it "MUST" be done in publisher, then she should allow time in class to do the project.
If this is not available for them in class, then you should complain to the principal and even the school board because this is unfair.

I own Microsoft Publisher and it pretty much sucks.
I think this is very unfair for your DD teacher to require you to get this program. Time to have a nice chat with Mr. Principal. :cool2:

If a teacher requires special computer programs, the school has to pay for or provide it. I doubt you are the only one with this problem. I also think you need to have a conference with the principal. The school district buys master licenses from microsoft for these programs at a very low cost. Maybe they will give you a disk to use under their master license if they are requiring this type of work.
