Site Problems This AM

As many of you are already aware, OLS had intermittent problems this morning. Some of the database tables on the server became corrupted. Any data that happened to be in the process of being saved at precisely the wrong time was lost as a result. From what I have been able to tell, only a few posts and a couple of members' MySweeps data was lost. Relatively speaking, the amount of data lost is very minor. I believe all the problems have been fixed, and don't expect anymore similar problems.

If you lost your MySweeps data as a result.
I should be able to recover and restore any MySweeps data that was saved before 4am ET this morning.

If you would like me to restore your MySweeps data to what you had as of 4am ET this morning, send me a PM (http://www.online-sweepstakes.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=2) requesting the restore.

The MySweeps data that I restore for you will replace any new and duplicated MySweeps data you may have added since the database problem this morning. In other words, if you have sweep 'xyz' in your restored MySweeps data AND sweep 'xyz' is in your current MySweeps data, the restored MySweeps data for the 'xyz' sweep will overwrite the new MySweeps data for that same sweep. If, on the other hand, you added 'abc' sweep this morning after the problems and the same sweep isn't in your restored MySweeps data, the 'abc' sweep will be kept and added to your newly restored MySweeps data.

Any restorations will take place tonight, and I'll send you a PM when I'm done.

Glad to see OLS is back up & running. I was trying to get to a premium sweep for codes this morning before work & I was kind of bummed about that. Turns out the code wasn't posted anyway so I am all around relieved. :laugh: Thanks for the great job Brent. :gvibes:

I really can't believe this site. never before have I ever been a part of an online community or otherwise that is so curtious and helpful. my premium membership is up the 8th of October and i will be renewing without hesitation. thanks to all who help run and support this site. you have given this stay-at-home mom an escape as well as the BEST hobby on the face of this planet!!! When I go to check out new sweeps, expiring sweeps, or MySweeps - I can only get the first page of each. Is the site still having problems or is it something wrong on my end?

:frown3: Yesterday was just a bad computer day for me... in the AM OLS went down a few times so I quit and in the afternoon I kept getting kicked off AOL and my computer froze up twice so I just didn't finish my sweeps, but my house did get cleaned and laundry is done...so I'm OK with it.... just glad today we're up and running and everything seems back to normal. Thanks!

I haven't lost 'my sweeps' but it's saying I have 49 pages of dailies when I only have 33. The pages beyond page 33 are blank. For nearly a month now, OLS has been having late-night outages and it's really getting old. These constant shut-downs are driving me crazy! When I became an OLS member I was under the understanding that I'd have full 24-hour access to the site.

I have been having trouble even accessing OLS all week. So have others, according to the posts, so it's not my browser.

It would be nice to know what's happening.

I don't think I've lost any sweeps, ( I may have) but it seems that my "date entered" sometimes loses a couple of days. That is, I kow I entered on Thursday, but my date entered will show Tuesday. This isn't particularly important on dailies, but it could be important on "single entries", and 24-hr sweeps.

(Did the government put spyware on this site? :laugh: )

Yes - I noticed that this morning too. So - we still have not heard squat about what the heck is going on.

Just sit back and enjoy it I guess.
