I am taking bits and pieces of an e-mail I received this a.m., and putting it forth to get the wisdom of all you guys, before I do anything.

1. Our prize notification department has informed us that you have been awarded a valuable Sony prize, but as of {Give Date} it remains unclaimed.

Now isn't it weird that they didn't bother to insert the date - and by the way they didn't bother to insert my name either - it just says {Last}{First}.

2. Simply click here to view your Sony prize.

The {here} does provide a link - but not a link to view my Sony prize, rather a link to submit my name, addy, b-day, etc. I haven't a clue what my *valuable* prize is?

Now - this darn name rings a bell - seems I've seen it hundreds of times on *junk* e-mail - anybody? Also - what offer am I supposed to offer a friend - I've allegedly *been awarded* a prize - now I can just forward this offer to a friend?

What do you make of it - did not feel comfortable just filling out the information requested. Fishy?

Sorry, guys, my mom Lori gnawed through her restraints again and started sending out more "win notices". I've upped her dosage of medication and turned up the volume on the Gilligan's Island tape I've got looping for her. Hopefully the third time's a charm.
