Hi all:
I am new to this site, so glad I found it, love it. Have been sweeping for number of yrs, but always by snailmail. Early this yr, moved to small ranch where sweeping by snail just wouldn't work, so began entering on line. Suddenly, at the end of my 1st month of sweeping, I began receiving win notices, not huge, sound system, pda, jewelry , coins, gift certs, cameras. I thought I was really on to something here, and burned up my comp getting those entries in. Since then, nearly 3 months now, have not had a single win, not even a hat or tshirt even tho a number of sweeps had 2nd or 3rd prizes of l,000 or more cds, or shirts or whatever. I've asked same question at other sweep chats and they said I was just too greedy, or impatient. That is not it. Of course, I enter sweeps to win, and expect to wait, not win every time. But this just seems weird. I've always won consistently with snail sweeps, not huge wins, but depending on number entered, could always count on some wins. Has this ever happened to anyone else, or does this not seem strange. I don't get wins, but am being drowned in spam. Sure would appreciate some feedback.

This is what I believe happened . . . the Sweep Fairy made one of her quarterly audits, & "Lo & Behold" -- decided that you had rec'd too much too soon.
Its as simple as that . . . don't be discouraged; you're probably back on her list already. This happens . .;) . . sometimes to the best of us !

Welcome to the Forum !

Well, I won a couple of nice items when I first started about 3 months ago and really not much since. I think it's just the nature of the game.
I was talking to my hubby at dinner about some sweeps I'd entered today and he asked me why I hadn't won anything lately.

Hey Jazzy,

Welcome!

Your not greedy or impatient. They will start to come in again. After a sweeps has ended, forget about it. This way you will be totally surprised when a win comes in. When I start wondering why I haven't won on any particular sweeps I entered, be it snail or online, I start to get frustrated, and that's when the burnout starts to set in. The rewards go in spurts in this hobby, and we all suffer the dry spells! I believe this is why so many people who try this hobby dropout. Here's to more wins coming your way soon!:grin5:

I think the pool of entries online is just so much bigger, so it lessens your odds. It is far easier online for more people to enter and you don't have to pay for stamps. People have access to computers at home and at jobs ...and all day long. ...thus, more entries.

This is true! I need another. I have been ambushed, on occasion, from one of my blind spots.

Your early wins are enough to make us "oldies" here a bit pea green with envy jazzy! LOL If you enter... they will come!

You guys aren't suggesting that Brent needs to add a "panic" button to the site are you? ::::giggle:::: I know you only enter on your breaks and your lunch hours from work, right? ROFL!!!

Katie :)

I usually enter sweeps at work when I'm supposed to be filling prescriptions. Does that make me a bad person? OK, then, if not, what if I told you that I enter so many sweeps that I don't even bother checking the pills that go in the bottles anymore, and now half the town is taking Viagra instead of blood pressure medication? Does THAT make me a bad person? Well, at least now the old men in the nursing home aren't rolling off their beds anymore.
