interesting reading. whenever we hear of iran, it's the moolahs, the extremeists, the terrorists, the nuclear, but never the gas and oil.
....in the British and Israeli press and on the Internet, rumors and reports abound that either the Bush administration or the Israeli government (in coordination with Bush officials) or both are planning air attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities as early as this June
if this is true, and for those that don't have a calendar handy, this is next month. :frown3:

This reasons for invading Iran are so obvious. If Congress goes along with this, another nail in the coffin for all of us. Remember, "a small country will rise up out of the east". It seems as if Bush and Cheney have sealed our fate and ironically their own.
The Geopolitics of Oil: Iran
Share of global reserves: 11.4%
Share of global production (2003): 5.1%
Share of petroleum sector in the economy: oil and gas constitute 82% of Iran's exports.

Iran is OPEC's second largest oil producer and holds 10 percent of the world's proven oil reserves. It also has the world's second largest natural gas reserves (after Russia).
Expenditures on fuels were estimated at $4.7 billion in 2004, and the country's parliament (the Majlis) has rejected measures to raise consumer prices. To the contrary, in January 2005, the Majlis decided to freeze domestic prices for gasoline and other fuels at 2003 levels. Currently, gasoline costs less than 40 cents per gallon in Iran, far below market cost.
So look how much the Bush neocons are gonna make after we invade this country! And what are their reasons? This above explains it all.

gulp!
how do we protect ourselves ?
it reminds me of being married to a bully, slightly insane husband that caused my life to be more dangerous due to being in his company. (picked fights and put us in dangerous situations that could have been avoided).
Can we still go about our happy, productive lives while our government is bringing a fight to our land? it is only a matter of time. You can not keep pushing and pushing and not expect some push back. The pushing then escalates into a WWIII. then we are all dead or seeing so much death and destruction we wish we were :frown3:
damn. we only have a month? how are those impeachment efforts coming along?

Yeah, where are all the Conservatives? The Bush lovers? Where are they? Probably saying their prayers! I know that I am doing that quite a bit lately. God have mercy on all of us, but no mercy for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, Baker, Bush Sr & Noonies, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and you get the idea! When these people are dying they'll remember that they were not truthful to themselves or to the citizens of the United States of America. If they had been, they could have changed the way things are turning out now.

I'm sick of asking where the outrage is. I've been outraged for years now. Even my staunch Republican Bush-voting spouse is outraged. Our military is spread so thin, even by their own admission. To strike against Iran would be suicidal.
